Lol how is it the same? I not once mentioned a ban or limit on a weapon or magazine type.

Let me rephrase since clearly you're having an issue comprehending my point. It is harder and a longer process to be able to travel efficiently via automobile than it is to buy something that was made with the sole purpose of killing something. Any questions?

Totally agree! But it's politics. I still would like an explanation from pro banners what an assault rifle is and how it's more dangerous then any other semi-automatic.

I'd feel a hell of a lot better knowing that with all the guns out there everyone is at least is trained on how to use them. Its not all about intentional violence. How many people accidentally get killed cause they don't know how to use or properly store firearms because there's no required education before buying a gun.

Since you seem to not member what you said. Did you read the regulations that are being suggested to congress? They want to put back in place the AWB that expired in 2004 and they also want to put a cap on mag size.

So to answer your question. Yes it is over regulation. Not all of them are common scene.

To keep this on topic I am glad there are those that have the right not to own a gun and are happy not owning them.

Any just because it is a longer process to buy and operate a vehicle does not make it any safer than a gun. You make it sound like every one that owns a gun is some twisty eyed goof from Alabama. You also make it sound that every one that drive has the competency to do. I just think your wrong.. That's all.

Saying you're proud to not own is gun is like saying you're proud to not own a hammer, a weed trimmer, or an ink pen. All of these are devices, which are governed solely by how they're used by the owner.

To me, having a gun is just "an ounce of prevention." May never need it, but I may never need a first aid kit, a three-day supply of food, an extra tank of fuel for the grill, a spare tire, or whatever as well. Of course, that doesn't stop me from having all of those available.

Have read for a while, now I guess I will post something. Will try to keep this 100% objective and civil.

I have seen several of your posts, and I have yet to see ANY support for the bolded comment above? Where do you get that information from? I would truly like to see some statistics.

I have been a gun owner for most of my adult life. While I don't own any currently, I agree that my thoughts changed when I had kids. I bought a second gun to be placed in a second safe for my wife, and I made sure that we kept them locked and away from the kids. Initially we had keyed safes, but when they became available we bought bio safes that simply required our fingerprint to open it. Since both my girls were about 4 years old I have been teaching them about gun safety and how dangerous one is if someone doesn't have the proper education. Each girl had the experience of firing a 22 rifle and pistol at age 6, with our hands-on supervision.

I am 100% in agreement with the bolded print.

Again, how do you come up with this statement? How would you know that his friend would have been the most likely to have been dead?

I am a supporter of gun ownership, though I do agree in my OPINION that there should be a REASONABLE limit on what kinds of guns we have. That being said, I do ask that everyone who likes to use the constitution as a defense, to research the word "Infringed". you will realize after reading the definition, that legally the government CAN put a reasonable limit on what you can or can't own as a firearm, while still not "infringing" on your second amendment rights.
As long as you are allowed to own a gun, they are not "infringing" on your rights. Nothing in the constitution says that they have to allow you to own ANY kind of gun that you want. They just have to allow gun ownership.

These statements are my opinion, and as such I have a right to them. If you don't like them then I am sorry, just ignore my post and carry on.

I remember exactly what I said. I specifically remembered the fact that I said (and you quoted) MOST of them seem like common sense to me. MOST. Not all. MOST. There are literally dozens of things being proposed both through future legislation and executive order and you're focusing on the AWB and magazine capacity limit, 2 things (that yes I'm we'll aware of, I've actually read the proposals unlike a lot of people I've heard spouting off misinformation. And no not saying that's you) which I didn't even reference.

If you're perfectly fine knowing someone needs zero knowledge or training to buy a gun. Fine. We'll have to agree to disagree. I just think its ludicrous that far more benign things require licenses or training or whatever. That's my point. Does having a license mean you're automatically a good driver? Of course not. But if no one on the road had a license or had previously had driver training do you not agree that accidents and deaths would be infinitely higher if everyone was clueless?
