Who can blame you? It is TOUGH to get on with nearly any fire dept here though, from what I've heard.

Lol no a pic from the chive. :)
CO is a tough state to get a paid FD JOB. most departments here are going to CO ff1,some ff2, emt-b, haz mat opps just to test with them. There is a test into metro area that some departments use called DRCOG it's ran like 2-3 times a year. Good news is there is a bunch hiring in 2013 because of people retiring. We just switched to the 48/96 as most of the north Denver departments run its awesome.

Real though. I've got a buddy/neighbor who was volunteering hours away and was on a waiting list that was years long to be able to volunteer at the local station. Before his wait was up he ended up moving to SoCal and Nevada because he had some sort of inside line to get on earlier or some such thing. Personally, I think he left to get out of paying me back the $500 he owed me. I digress. From what I've heard it's quite difficult to get a paying job as a firefighter and you usually end up somewhere in SE Colorado for a few years until the opportunity comes up to transfer. I haven't tried, this is just the most recent story I have to relate. I have some other stories with more detail on paying gigs but those are old enough I'm not even sure they apply anymore. One buddy said that there's a test you take and they take from that to fill roughly 9 jobs statewide and Cheyenne annually. If you are one of the 9 you don't really get to pick where you go either. He said that he was one of like 100 that passed the test just for that year and had been volunteering for years and knew plenty of people through the ranks and still had a helluva time getting on. I'm not sure how much of that applies today but it gives you an idea. Could all be BS for all I know since it's not first-hand info that I procured through my own experience. :D

It's the DRCOG test you still get to pick who your scores get sent too. It's nt a hard test but its just the entry into each individual testing process. It sucks but those who want the job jump through the hoops till they get it.

Just trying to help ya out. I know guys that have been testing for 4-5 years without getting to a chiefs interview. It's a very highly wanted job in Colorado.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm serving up a memory from almost a decade ago so that may have even been relayed to me at the time or perhaps it was different. Dunno. That's why I said it might all be BS. :D

Haha nah your on track. It's a test you take an your scores Get sent out to who ever you tell them to on the list. Then the individual department look at the scores and if they like how you scored they offer you a chance to do the cpat of combat challenge which ever PAT they use then if you pass within the guidelines they use you can get an interview. After that a chiefs interview an after that a psych test and eval, and with some a poly graph.

OMG I am going to quote this again because Redheads are my favorite (don't tell my wife). That and this girl is amazing. I love when a classy hot picture comes along. Not looking slutty or giving up too much skin. HOT

Good idea! Get out while you can, it gets way more complicated once you're married and a parent. I guess I could cheat, but there's no way I'm going to find a girl that looks like that that wants to jump in bed with me :-( That and I'm way too nice to be a dick like that
I guess that's why all you fuckers have happy socks though. If you as long as you have an Internet connection you can have all those girls whenever you want. And you don't have to listen to them talk afterwards :)
