okay, I think for some people who need them, these drugs are a godsend.( and I know some who were suicidal and now are happy and productive) However when they are given out to liberally, we can have a problem. They should be very highly regulated and tracked in a national database for users, that crossed with a national database for gun owners. I think gun retailers should be required to keep inventories, and all buyers should be subject to a back ground check at the buyers expense. I think the ATF should be allowed to regulate firearms tracking and should be funded for it. I also don't think gun shows should be able to sell indiscriminately. I also feel all states should have similar laws regarding gun ownership. I don't think suppressors should be legal even if I have never heard of a crime were one was used before. Fully automatic weapons are not safe for public consumption. High capacity magazines are only a wet dream and really not something anyone should be fighting about.:crapstorm: here we go.....

My only question about tracking and background checks and registration are, why are new Hampshire and Vermont so safe while so many own guns? We have no registry. Very simple background checks. I can cc with no permit.

I have no problem with meticulous background checks. I'd love to argue on the high capacity magazines but I find it difficult in looking for grounds to do so. If I have to wait 2 weeks to buy an AR, fine, at least I still have the right to.

a suppressor is for one thing, killing something or someone without being noticed. We had a little kid shoot himself at a show with an uzi because the recoil caused the gun to rear back and he blew his head off. He was supervised by professionals. I think you give the "public" a little to much credit for being competent.

I can understand background checks. I have problems making certain drugs remove your rights, that only makes people either not be diagnosed out of fear. And we can't legislate our way out of catastrophe. It is sad, but the truth.

Right, so why bother with a ban ? You then create gun versus knife fights.

kind of correct. I would love to get a suppressor to shoot pigs with. I could take out a heard in one night!

THey are also a great tool for training. They reduce noise pollution making them less "scary" for new shooters. Also where a class is being taught they could be very usefull. The instructor could be heard very well

We put mufflers on all kinds of other things. why not guns?

He was supervised by professionalsObviously they werent.
Thats my point. people are not as competent as we like to think. He was with LEO's at a shooting range with instructors.

True to some extent... we do need to find a way to keep firearms out of the hands of those being treating for mental issues of any type IMO, however

IMO, you have mental issue's, you give up some privacy rights. Thats a suck pill you have to swallow. Lots of things that suck about being sick physically or mentally.

They can also be used to reduce noise and recoil for target shooting. You seem to have a very narrow minded way of thinking.

If they are only used for killing something or someone without being noticed, then why do other countries with much stiffer gun laws than the U.S. allow them?

I blame all three. If the gun were not there, it would not have gone done that way. If the instructors and LEO' were competent and paying attention, it might not have happened either.

Really, you say I have a narrow mind here? You think they were invented to aid instruction and target practice? I have zero knowledge about other counties laws in this area. I also could care less about what other counties think. This is MURICA!!!

Interesting, what other privacy and constitutional rights do you think we should give up?

Since DUI homicide causes way more deaths then assault rifles. Do you think we should go back to prohibition of alcohol too?

If planes were not there then 9/11 wouldnt have happend.
If cars were not there people wouldnt crash them.
If the sun wasnt there no one would get skin cancer.

Im not trying to bash you but I have to agree with what someone above said, you have a very narrow minded way of thinking.

actually, in my state, the car could be in big trouble. Law says we have to have control of the vehicle at all times. So maybe, it depends.
