I always get a schoolboy snicker when someone posts legal advice, but qualifies it with "IANAL" :D

You may have just been "lucky" :(.

Did the most recent failed starter respond at all to electricity when off the vehicle?

Starters can align gear teeth "just right" and the gears just crash into each other - sometimes resulting in a "locked starter". Had to rock a vehicle once in gear to free one up.

Shaft end play one just sounds like a bad starter.

Sounds like you're getting good at changing starters though!:woot:

x2 on the front end work. I've got a serious clunk going on. I suspect swaybar bushings.

AAL to start. NO BLOCKS - Actual functional lift vs the "looks" way

also what money are you looking to spend?

Smittybuilt shackle receiver and 30,000lb recovery strap arrived yesterday. Then made a 900km round trip to Ikea... discovered how soft my rear leafs are. Just a couple cabinets in the back and the rake made everyone think I was high-beaming them. I smell an upgrade...

The starter in my car is about the same spot as the oil filter drain is on the Tacoma...just a little bit of finesse to get it out from under the main harness

I didn't test it off the car, oriellys didn't even bother to test it either after seeing the chewed teeth.

I tried rocking the car, and "tapping" it with my big maglight, even got a jump but would still just single click. Was thinking the extra cold we've been having could have done something..

happy everything works now though :)

They are custom, Do what I need them to do, and don't cost nearly as much as the Top Brands.

I'll have to try and find that trail sometime. Went out on the dirtbike a few summers ago for about 3 hours and ended up by the lake, great view and great pictures! By the way, I love your gf's shirt! I'm a nerd for Marvel Comics :anonymous:
