Didn't read all the post but, seems you're looking for peoples thoughts so here's what I see...(as if it mstters).

So if I uderstand what you're saying....

You spent FIVE months looking for a SIX YEAR OLD truck that runs "great" and is at a price and milage & is "very clean" that you were happy with? I would have to guess that you looked the truck over prior to signing the deal because it seems you spent a decent amount of time looking for "the" truck deal that would make you happy then decided to "see what you could get away with".

I think it is karma brother.

Anything I wanted fixed (flasher botton sticking & mud flap) would have been addressed prior to signing the deal otherwise I would be happy to accept the fact I was buying a decent six year old truck that runs great, is very clean at a price and condition I liked.

So, without judging you but only to answer your question...yes, I feel you're being a dick. However, that is a risk the dealer takes for his profit reward.

I agree but I did notice the problems before hand and still wanted the truck. I did bring it up and said they could take care of the hazardous issues not sure about the cosmetic. I'm no stranger to mechanical work regardless of how minimal it is. When I took it to them to check out the flap and hazard button I just pointed out the other issues. They said they would do it so I took their word. I don't mind spending the 50 bucks to get the other issues taken care of but they agreed and I expect them to follow through.

About the 6 year old truck sorry but this is the newest vehicle I've ever owned. For 18k I plan on having no issues. My previous daily was my dragster ta that I have invested more then 15k in. All the way from power train, drive train, and all oem brand new interior with a custom cage. The whole reason I was pissed was them calling me a liar to my face and not honoring their word

    Clazzio seat covers,
This has been interesting ... bottom line ... you waited all this time to find the right truck ... you should have waited another two days while they tended to the issues prior to you accepting delivery.

Once you began screaming and yelling all they heard was Charlie Brown's teacher.

I know this is a big investment for you but ... you went about it the wrong way ... both prior to taking it home and dealing with the service department.

I understand and I'm with you on this point brother.

I had a similar circumstance years ago when I couldn't get a brake drum off a Toyota pick up. I chose to take it to Firestone because my uncle was freinds with the dude that owned it (lived next to each other) and after a recent death in his family (the owners son) was out of the office for a while and the business went down hill. I explained the problem and asked if the drum could be removed without damage. He assurd me it would be no problem. About an hour later he told me they found it broken and I would need to purchase a new drum myself. I went to speak with the mechanic who admitted he broke it while heating it and beating it with a hammer. I told the owner and explained that I had come to him after my uncle had recommended him...he said he was sorry for not being truthful and made it right. Needless to say, had his situation been different, he would have at least heard my true feelings!

Some people have low or no integrity. It's a lesson learned and I guess getting it addressed up front in writing is the way to go...
