Hey guys. Sorry I missed all of the TSF runs. Started a job @ Capital One in Tigard as an IT Consultant doing Field Services Level II and some Level III. Working 50 hours a week since September. Expect to get my offer letter from them any day now. It is actually a lot of fun. It is one of their call centers, so they are about 1000 people at the site.

Also still having a pretty hard time with the loss of my dad. Hunting seasons just weren't the same without him. Thanksgiving and xmas sucked. New Years day would have been his 71st birthday. I know in time the hurt will subside, but the wound is still pretty raw.

I will be looking forward to the next run. Truck is WAY too clean and needs some mud on it to make it look better.

Will be looking for some MT's soon. I have the 18" AT's on now. I have gotten about 40K out of them, and on the highway could still get another 10-20K. I also have a set of stock 17" TRD Rims that I was thinking of getting the MT's for off-roading. If you know of anybody that has a used set of 17" with about 50% tread that they want to dump, let me know. Otherwise, this summer I will have to start a thread about whether these tires will fit on my truck....:D

James, and try the fjc forums. The fjs have 17" rims and there's lots of tires that get taken off.

On a separate topic, of not sure I like this keyboard app. Does some goofy stuff and it killed swype

Hello everyone, I'm Ryan and live in East Vantucky but work in Clackamas, just found this thread, been a lurker here for awhile thought i'd introduce myself and say hi. Hi. Here is a pic from last weekend up around st. helens. Just stopped to take a piss and a pic, not stuck in this pic. Only had to use the shovel twice. Well two and a half times if you count my wife smacking me with it.

Also i'm replacing my stock radio and speakers this weekend if you know any one interested in the crap i'd make a smoking deal if its a local sale and I also have some trail master 1.5" lift blocks and a shit pile of 6.5" panasonic 2 way speakers out of a couple sea ray boats too. They are shitty but better than the stock speakers if you or anyone you know might want them. Like 10 bucks each if you buy 2 of them, 5 bucks each if you buy more than two. I think I have 10 of the panasonics and I also have a decent clarion marine hu with satellite radio box, wired remote, and 6 disc changer i'd sell for like 100. Pm me if you want pics or any further info. Also would be interested in trading for hunting/fishing/camping/car crap. or anything cool.

I'll sell you mine! I need a slight upgrade anyway. I have BFG ATs that probably have at least 70% left. 265/70/17. I'll sell the spare as well.

Anyone in the area that retrofits HID's that you guys know of? I was just going to buy ebay projector headlights and an HID kit but it seems that isn't the best way to go due to the output of the ebay headlights not being very good. Rather have it done the right way the first time..

    Thanks

Ahhhhh This CB radio is driving me (more) insane..

Changed out everything, re-soldered antenna wire/checked grounds..

    Still getting extremely high SWR.

Thinking that there is some form of an internal short, or in the antenna/power cable to the mic.

    Any input?

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Where did you run your ground? Are you tuning it out in the open away from any interference, such as power lines/transformers, cell towers, phone lines etc?

Have you tried hardwiring to the battery with an in-line fuse?

    Rear corner of passenger bed.

Installed a marine 12V outlet in center console, tapped into 20A power outlet circuit and ran ground to chassis/bolt.

I'm leaning towards internal short because reception is spotty. I've been pulling in stations from OH, AK etc.. Then suddenly the radio goes to dead static.

Plus, the fact that the radio stayed on, eve when I took the ground lead of antenna and 12V outlet leads me to internal short..

Not a huge deal, I can exchange it thru best buy, just a pain in the ass more than anything..

Hey guys, long time no talk. So I think I announced on here that I now own a 2003 7.3L Powerstroke F-250.

Well, I replaced the injector cups and o-rings last weekend (Jesus, what a pain in the ass - but a story for another day). After everything was back together, I did a coolant flush and put brand new coolant in it. I've been checking my puke tank every stop to make sure the level isn't dropping too quickly (If I'd done the injector cups wrong, it could potentially leak coolant into the cylinders).

Well, I haven't experienced any rapid coolant drop. But I have experienced a few wicked bubbles that will cause the radiator cap to allow coolant out until I remove the lid and let it just leak out the top. Then the level goes back to normal as if the bubble cleared. Its done that twice now. I was pretty sure I'd let it run long enough after I initially filled it for all the bubbles to be gone - but it's ass cold outside so I haven't been wasting much time.

So those bubbles seem normal after I had the entire system wide open for a weekend. But now, driving home tonight in 29 degree weather - the heater shits out. Blows ice cold. I got out, opened the hood, found another massive bubble blowing coolant out the cap. Pulled the cap and let it overflow. Filled it back up with water, let it run. The heat came back for like 2 minutes and then went away again. No dramatic drop in coolant level, heat is just gone.

Couple of symptoms I've read that I can already remove:

    1. Bad Thermostat: I sure as hell hope not. The thing is only a month old
    2. Bad blend valve: Would this really go bad all of a sudden? Would it make sense that it would come back for like 2 minutes and then go away?

I had a mother of a time burping my cooling system after removing my freeze plug block heater, and putting a new freeze plug in it's place..

Exactly how did you add new coolant? Did you fill radiator until full, then run engine with cap off, with heater on full blast, add coolant as needed?

Or, did you fill radiator then put cap on and run engine?

I was at wit's end with burping my system, took a few hours.

Also, throughout the burping process, have your heater on the defrost setting..

Hopefully, you flushed with distilled water.
