    Look at build!
Yea I won't let anyone sit on that side and no one really rides back there. Anyway except the dog sometimes but mostly just a junk pile or tool storage

Should fab up a protective grill man. Can't hurt.

    It does look nice though.

Alas my cubbies will be stuffed with relays and power blocks so I can't do that.

I see that... but if I leave that slot open (for lack of a better term) then the cubby will not be fully sealed.

edit: nvm just went outside and see that I can seal it up fully, around the lower bracket of the seatbelt and still have it function properly

He says they are "white as white can be"

But yeah I want to know how long they last. I'm still on both my factory bulbs

And a preemptive question. If I replace only the bulbs will I have to realign my headlight/beams?

shouldnt have to. but some bulbs will advertise they are white but end up looking blueish. and i noticed they have the blue tint on them around the bulbs...

I noticed that too. According to: http://www.amazon.com/Sylvania-SilverStar-Ultra-Halogen-Headlight/dp/B0012ETJ1O

it says, "100% street legal and the whitest and brightest headlight currently available"

And naturally a lot of those reviews from Amazon are negative because of the short life span. Although this one is interesting:

    Very bright but short lived.
I installed a set in my 2002 Honda CRV. One burned out in about 4 months and I don't have running lights. A call to Sylvania customer service gave a offer to send a new set if I returned the burnt out bulb with the sales reciept. OK thats nice, 2 for 1. Very generious, however the second set did not last any longer. Another call to C.S. This time the rep. was more helpfull or should I say truthful. I was informed that some makes of vechiles such as Honda and BMW, as well as other forgien makes run as high as 15 volts to the headlights causing premature failure of the Silver Star and Silver Star Ultra bulbs. Therefore Sylvania does not recomend them for these cars. Now they tell me.

Do our Tacomas run at 15 volts?

    Hutch raises a good point:

"Don't forget that all Halogen headlight bulbs lose intensity over their lifespan so longer lasting bulbs just get duller and duller. There is no advantage to a longer lasting bulb if you can't see well with it."

My bulbs are so dim right now that if it's night time and the road is wet, I don't even see light coming from my truck. The glare on the road makes it all but disappear.

No we run at 12v however voltage can vary depending on how many things you have running.

The higher the voltage to a light the brighter it'll be but also the shorter the life.

Most vehicles with little to no accessories on run at 14.1v. Lights will dip that as low as 12-13 by themselves depending on the lights if course.

Stereo can drop it down to 9 if you pushing a lot if power which if course is not good.

This is why a lot of lights you buy say 9-14/15 or higher rating on them.

My truck sits at 14.1 with nothing on. Goes to 10 with most my lights on. Hence the new alternator I'm installing and second battery to combat that.

I might go with the Ultras and see how it goes.

I'll keep the OEM bulbs in the truck "just in case"

Like I said before, I've got these
    [IMG]

I was worried they'd be blue as well- but they are super white! I've had them now for 8 months, and are still bright and crisp. I'll give y'all an update when I need to replace them. Worth the extra 12 bucks IMO

silverstar ultras are the brightest and best investment you can do to a headlight(legally) without going to a retro. they are awesome for the guys that don't want to spend a ton on their lighting setup!

Could either of you guys post some output shots? I literally had these in my hand the other day at advance considering if I should just do these instead of saving for a retro.
