Anyone Proud to Not Own a Gun?

Thanks, JWC, I couldn't put it better myself. I spent some of my time defending your rights. Now, I try to do the same for my rights.

 

I have had arguments with people in threads before about owning/needing guns. I'm in no way against owning a gun, although I agree it is sometimes way to easy to get ahold of one, "legal" or "illegal". With that said, I do not own a gun, nor have I ever thought I need one or needed to carry one. I have a couple buddies who are armed to the teeth, and have gone shooting with them before, and enjoy it, but its not something I want to spend my money on. I have wanted to get a nice revolver, maybe someday, but again, not something I care to put my money into right now. So, I wouldn't say I'm proud not to own a gun, its just not something I care about. I do have knives, and a 4 D Maglite. I keep next to the bed, knife and brass knuckles in the truck, and a butterfly knife in my tool box. . Never needed those things though, and hopefully never do.

 

I see your point, but I do say this: While there are lots of marches to state capitals with people showing up armed to support their rights to own/carry/conceal, I think a march on DC itself so armed would NOT result in anything good.

But 52% or those 42% are only made up by those who like to just make up numbers!

 

sounds like a lot of people feel the "government is gonna come and oppress the shit out everyone. Sad that the very people trusted to protect this country are now not trusted to act responsibly. The American military are and remain the finest(for the most part) citizens in America. We are now worried about being able to overthrow the government because these soldiers are coming to get us? WTF is wrong with people. nobody is coming to get you. You are not that special.

I don't believe the military will come and get my high capacity mags.

However it has to start some where. First with mags.. then type of gun.. then all guns.

I do believe there is writing on the wall and it needs to be address and not just looked at as graffiti.

This is the biggest underlying reason why I and many others are against this type of continued gun banning. There is a reason we can own guns other than .22s and shot guns. However if people talk like this morons like Piers Morgan label you as a nut job who only has thoughts of over throwing the government. People really don't understand the significance for the 2nd amendment.

I was at a burger king doing some work on my laptop (internets were broken)
and piers morgan was on the tv doing some interview, and after glancing up at it every now and then i started watching it and was getting so butt mad at what he was saying i realized i was yelling at him through the tv in the middle of this burger king...felt dumb haha

It starts small. Ban "certain" guns, restrict ammo sales, then as we get numbed into that they keep right on taking until you have nothing and then what, your at the mercy rule. Its called oppression. I am not saying we should have guns to "overthrow" anyone, but what keeps governments in line is the fear of the people.
This is not a "political statement" meant to incite political discussion mods, just a historical fact.
