    I could not agree more.

The First amendment is the Bark of the people.
The Second amendment is the Bite of the people.

Remove the fangs and the bite is not so bad.

At the end of the day regardless of what a ban on this gun or that gun would or wouldn't accomplish if there are 300,000,000 (just throwing out a number) guns in legal gun owners hands right now whatever legislation may get passed those people are still going to have those same 300,000,000 million guns. I personally don't see that as people being oppressed and less able to defend or disarmed as many like to say. So you own 3 AR15's (or whatever other gun might get banned) now and won't be able to add a 4th in your collection. Are you really any less safe? You can only operate one rifle at a time lol.

just the other day, in my community...

a young boy of 16 years was stabbed multiple times, to death
by a group of young boys that seem to disregard
    any law, liberty or life.

all this because he refused to give up his cell phone (story)

Maybe you don't live in this type of environment.
But this shit is becoming all too common in my community.

I demand the right to defend myself.
regardless of what the masses think or wish to believe.

just wait until some of these hood rats kill someone you give a shit about.
then you may find yourself believing something of a different tune.

Our government is fast becoming too intrusive.
and the majority of you all ignore that fact.
thinking peace will be the answer

    Obviously history counts for nothing.

Put a fully automatic weapon in the paws of a bear...
    who gets shot ?

No one... because bears don't care.

truth of the matter is that people are what's wrong...
    not guns.

I believe in better background checks...
and defining those whom are unstable.

The unstable and criminals minds should not have access.
    but the later will... regardless.

I refuse to be left vulnerable
just because some people have a fantasy
    of what life should be.

Maybe you should start to demand that people be held responsible for the actions of their minor children, and that once again good parenting become the norm.

If more people raised their children properly, there would be less perceived for all the firearms people feel they need. I said need, not right to own... I'm trying to point out the difference.

Nope thats not when it happened. It happened when we started letting politicians make up laws they thought the people needed and which were put into effect by lobbyist who "donated" to campaign efforts to get there way.
I would be willing to bet that if you took an honest to god poll in this country, free of any political agenda, where you asked only the people, that this would be an overwhelmingly mute point. The MAJORITY of the people would vote against any "bans", and thats what this is about, a true democracy, which it is not.
Executive orders? Seriously? Anyone that thinks executive orders is any part of a democracy needs to go back to school.

I'm done, I dont want to be responsible for getting this closed or being banned.

I respect those who choose not to own guns it is not for everybody and we do live in a country where we make our own choices, for myself (Desert Storm Vet)I do own guns, for hunting and protection. My wife is trained on gun safety .She never owned or shot a gun,but with two young daughters she would shoot to kill if anyone would try to hurt them. Being smart and not putting yourself in a sticky position is the best way not to use a gun, but people who intend to harm you will, but any kind of weapon, knives ,dogs, baseball bats, and pepper spray, is better than nothing. God Bless our troops.

    x3 Well spoken...
 That's aweseome! You would... :p
With all the fraud going on, I'm not gonna disagree that voting is somewhat of a joke, but the electoral college is not as evil as it seems. :) The Founders saw pure democracy, or anything too closely resembing it, as evil... A population can be mis-informed and swayed very easily, and they needed something to stabilize something that fluid. Our Founders were smart dudes. They established the electoral system for very good reasons... ;)

You're splitting hairs with me. The "modern" adjective refers to a 2A right that is an individual right, and not a collective one.

Look at the two arguments in Heller and then decide what the 2A would look like if Heller was lost on a 4-5 vote.

The two sides in this case have set out very different interpretations of the Amendment. Petitioners and today's dissenting Justices believe that it protects only the right to possess and carry a firearm in connection with militia service. See Brief for Petitioners 11-12; post, at 2822 (STEVENS, J., dissenting). Respondent argues that it protects an individual right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home. See Brief for Respondent 2-4 (District of Columbia v. Heller, 128 S. Ct. 2783, 2789 - Supreme Court 2008).

The importance of Heller can not be overstated.

I've read all the decisions and I understand them very well. Heller is profound as it is the foundation stone upon which all other 2A legal theory is based upon. The legal theories which arose from reading Heller are currently being litigated around the country. McDonald is another landmark victory in that it incorporated the right against the states through the 14 Amendment's Due Process clause. McDonald opened the gates and allowed many federal cases to then proceed. Trust me. I've been keeping track and tabs on 2A federal litigation for a few years now and I generally understand the content and legal theories pretty well.

No. The Supreme Court was using it as an example. The 2A is not limited to the home. As we speak, there is a petition filed with the Supreme Court of the United States to hear Kachalsky et al v. Cacace et al

    QUESTIONS PRESENTED
    1. Does the Second Amendment secure a right
to carry handguns for self-defense outside the home?
    2. Do state officials violate the Second Amendment by denying handgun carry licenses to responsible, law-abiding adults for lack of “proper cause” to
    bear arms for self-defense?

FWIW every single poll I've seen favors the ban being proposed. Not by an overwhelming majority by any means but several percentage points. Sure take it with a grain of salt but i don't think you're ever going to get a majority vote in favor of no ban at all.

I'm not sure what the executive orders has to so with this. No guns will be banned via executive order that will be on legislation that goes to congress. Does seem so many people aren't actually interested in looking at the actual proposals and would prefer to just repeat the same misinformation being repeated. Nothing wrong with objecting to something but at least object to what's actually happening.

    Amendment II

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Above is the second amendment. Thought I'd post it because as simple as it seems, it does seem no two of us can agree on it...why is it so hard to understand?

Then I guess your not reading all my posts on the subject. I never said executive orders where going to ban guns, what I said was it starts small.

Banning "certain" guns, regulating how much ammo you can buy, what magazines you can own, etc.

As this happens people become numb or desensitized to what is happening, and gradually, over time you are the sheep being herded by wolves.

The executive order comment had to do with what a democracy is against, a ruling by one person, no other president in history has made as many executive orders as the current pres.

I don't know, why is it so hard for so many to understand all guns aren't being banned, either?
