Theres more I just cant think of it right now.

Do you even have a clue what you are talking about. If it wasnt for us "P.O.G.'s" The ground troops wouldn't have a prayer. Cause of people like me and my fellow F-18 Hornet Squadrons The ground 0311 and other infantry MOSs were even able to invade Iraq and other such countries. We clear the path and the Grunts are the clean up crew. Hell I've taken Mortar fire almost everday in one location I was at. And When OIF kicked off The base I was SCUD missle attacked like 5-6 times Thank God for the "support" of the Army and thier S.A.M. sites and knowing thier job.

any real grunt knows damn well that the other support MOS's are crucial to their survival. to me you sound like some douchebag that hasn't even actually served in any military. and 0311's arent the only grunt MOS's out there, do some research before you decide to talk shit asshole.

The guy sounds a little off to me. Is he talking about support guys like cooks and plumbers being garbage??? I know my day would suck if those two support jobs werent being done. Dont hate him for his ignorance, slap him around cause he's stupid.

I definitely agree with this. Never had my butt saved by F-18's but we have definitely had our butts saved by Apaches & a Spectre Gunship. Me and my buddies owe them "support" guys a drink. We all have our parts to play and that makes the military work as a whole.

Tough break but hang in there if you really want in.

I would tell anyone trying to get into the military that the less you tell MEPS the better. Of course you can't hide things like scars but no one is going to research your medical history. I've seen a lot of applicants disqualify themselves by saying too much.

Remember, MEPS job is to disqualify you and they will try to scare you into listing your entire medical history. If you do or not depends on you and how bad you want in.

I know all about the grunt units considering that I "supported" as well as a Corpsman, I fall into the support category as well, if we were not there ground pounding with those Marines than there wouldnt be that many saved lives due to all of the Corpman out there, I'm just saying that there is a lot of pride with being with the grunts. And my statement was correct that everyone else is only support to these units. Not trying to stir anything up, its just a fact.

yes it is a fact that we all support the infantry but calling us all "garbage" is definitely going to stir something up.

Yeah, I was stop-lossed for a couple of months and had a momentary lapse of reason when talking to my re-up NCO. That guys should sell used cars. Though that monthly stop-loss bonus was nice, the re-up bonus was better.

    Huh?

The AF used to deploy most folks for 4 months. Now it's 6. There are several year-long tours as well, but USUALLY those are volunteer positions.

Two trips ago I was only supposed to deploy for 4 months. But it turned into 2.5 months training and 6 months deployed.

Depending on your field you can be home for a year in between, or just 3 months. Cops and flyers have it the worst.

Love the BUFF. When I was at the recruiter all those years ago I was offered B-52 tail gunner! Intriguing, but saw no future in it

Air Force Weatherman for three years now. The fact is Air Force guys get better treatment than the other guys, better food, barracks, etc, not that we're any better but that's just the way it is. Although i am an airman i deploy with the army, as a lot of Air Force guys do. Believe me there is there is alot of crap to put up with in every branch, but i gotta hand it to you army guys. . .i deffinately don't have any regrets about joining the AF. . .you can get as deep into the fight as you want in the AF, you just gotta work really hard to get into one of the special ops groups,"combat control, pararescue, SERE, Tac-P, and Combat Weather."
