"Best" way to achieve black rims?

So I picked up a spare set of 16" steel wheels (no tires) for cheap, and want black wheels. I've been researching the different ways (POR-15, sand & spray paint, powdercoat), and was hoping for the longest lasting, best looking solution you've seen or done.

Current wheels are plasti-dipped, there's $50 I'll never get back

Best way..power coat, more durable then paint.

Next best way is to get it professionally painted.

Then, spray paint. I had good luck spray painting my old tacoma's wheels. Never chipped or peeled in the 4 years i used them.

 

Do both ?

Helped a kid in the hood do his honda wheels and had real good luck with the rust-oleum professional simi-gloss black,, Tires were on the rims and after a 1 year or so they still look good.. Tire stores are where they get messed up.

if you got the $$$$$$ powdercoat otherwise clean,sandpaper,prime and spray paint with a high quality rustoleum- krylon etc paint. it worked exellent for me. the only time i needed to touch up was when i got them balanced and the wheel weights were moved.

Sounds like powdercoating is the way to go!

 

Plasti derp is another option. I've also seen people wrap their wheels.
