Hello all, I just signed up for Amazon student and it's great! It gives 6 free months of 2 day shipping and early release dates on games and movies. After the 6 months are over you have the opportunity to upgrade to a full amazon prime membership for $40/year rather than $80/year. You can also upgrade at any time during the six months if you choose to do so.

That is what this is... Except for students, and you can upgrade to prime for half the price of a normal subscription.

 

I have prime for free...

I thought that was a part of the .edu emails.

 

Not to my knowledge. It asks for your .edu email when setting up the student account, and the student account gives free two-day shipping like prime, but you don't get instant video unless you upgrade to the Prime membership which is half off.

 

I just signed up for prime when it was first released with a .edu, been using it since for free.

 

That sounds like the way to do it then... I wish I would have known that was possible. But for people like me who didn't sign up at the beginning this seems to be a great alternative.

Yes, it sends a verification email with a link. It ended up in my spam folder... just a heads up.

 

oh ok, fuck. i dont think i can get back into my school email, and havent gotten my new one yet. shat.

 

That's a bummer... when you get your new one you should be able to do it no problem.
