Damn you! I was blissfully ignorant to the simplicity and need for the larger alternator.

I feel violated... and the desire to go order one right now.

 

yea its pretty strait forward..Just need some 4 ga wire and a bit of soldering and slap it in!

 

How much was the GM alt.?

Are you going with the simple 2 battery layout he described in his first post? The one with a single 80 amp solenoid between the positive cables?

 

Basically. But mine is 500amps for good reason.

Power wire will run like so,

Alternator-starter battery-fuse box

Then also from starter battery-500amp relay-secondary battery.

I bought two volt meters ill hook up to each battery and a momentary switch so I can check them.

I went with a 500amp relay for the winch. Ill most likely connect the batteries when winching. Winches can spike as high as 450-490 amps. So this 500amp continuous will easy handle that.

Plus it was only 45 bucks. So why not?

 

Labels came. All the way from Britain.

Picked this breaker up today. This will run inbetween the alternator and batteries.



Also got the CO2 tank filled for only 20 bucks! Get to try it tomorrow on a friends truck as it has 3 flats.

monte, I am going to add a leaf to my wheelers 5 pack...did you use the wheelers 1.5'' AAL?

Would you recommend any other AAL to add to it other than the wheelers?

 

Yes sir I did that pre roll over and I still have it in. It adds a lot to the packs for lift and weight capacity. Makes a stiff empty ride but with just a bit of weight they still flex quite well.

I'd go with the wheelers AAL for the wheelers leafs. It's made to wrk with them.

Well..nothing wrong with shackles. I have those too.

If they are 1" lift shackles (6") then with the AAL and 5 pack with shackle is what I had before the roll over
