Honestly they only know as much as we do as to why it was vibrating, which isnt much. But when we found out that alot of people were swapping out the stock two piece for a one piece and it was fixing the issue, i knew we had to do it. So we took the stock driveshaft to A1 so they could get all the dimensions of it and they made us a brand new one piece.

Well, I have a 2012 extra cab, with the same problem! I did the same thing, I took it to the dealership, they told me it was normal. REALLY! So when I got home I took out the driveshaft and drove it in 4wd, The vibration is totally gone. The dealer told me that they did this and therer was no change, They lied! So I had A1 drive shaft make me a one piece shaft, It has a double joint at the front and a slip yoke at the rear, and it works great. All the low speed vib. is gone slow vib.is gone it;s great, I still have a ever so slight vibration at around 50mph, But I love the truck, I guess I will live with this.. Thanks A1, Thanks for nothing, TOYOTA. Thanks Brady

Seems as though the one piece driveshaft solves the problem, so I think the carrier bearing/mount is most likely the culprit.
Back when I had my 09 prerunner I was amazed at how much up and down flex was in the carrier bearing/mount housing setup.
I could push it up and down more than I could believe.
Seems like if this is normal it is where the vibe could be comming from.

I 'd take it off and paint it too, though every old vehicle I've owned had a rust finish on the driveshaft.

I like the raw metal look I just use tire shine to keep moisture from building on it, and yes im always going underneath and cleaning it. I try to keep it as clean as possible! :)

Has anybody had the issue fixed yet with the new TSB-0249-12 from the link on page 11?

    Has this solved the issues?

    Thanks in advance.

    Chrome don't get you home
Post 210 I had that done to my 2012 double cab short bed 2 weeks ago, rear springs and trans mount, if I accelerate rapidly from a dead stop or from a roll I still feel something under there that doesn't feel right and after seeing the videos in that thread, that's what I'm feeling.

The new springs 3 pack are a little heavier gauge steel than previous.

What are your thoughts on this?

Well they blew off my vibration complaint, they said it was of no concern as it rode like all other Tacomas... knuckleheads.
