This is where it gets sketchy to me.. You drove to your dads house and hooked the trailer up and drove to gettysburg. Then instead of just going straight to your house to look for your phone you chose to drive 2 hours and 15 minutes to drop the trailer off then go to your house. But then when it was all said and done you dropped the trailer off at your own home.. So why take the time to drop the trailer off at your dads if he didnt care if it was at your house anyways?

Before a judge yes, before an online forum of people I dont know, no probably not.
However like I said, if the other side chimes in to say that your story is indeed correct, then I will apologize. Until then

Wow this dude is getting 650 for a leaky cap. I can't get 400 for a $1400 dollar cap that is like new.

Here's my side of the story:

I initially offered him $650. He declined and I wished him a good sale, stating that Leer and ARE caps are going for a similar price and that his is a Jerico that leaked.

A week later, he texted me asking if I still wanted it. We decide to meet up the following Saturday.

Before I left, asked him if we were still good to meet. I was on my way and told him so. He said his mother broke her arm and he was in the hospital.

Me - "Sorry to hear about your mom man, hope she has a speedy recovery. Do you still want to meet up today? I called off my shift this evening so it may be a while before I get another weekend. I have some sightseeing to do so I can meet up later today, let me know what you want to do."

Him - "Yeah I would think so. Just depends on when they're done in here."

Me - "I can drive to a closer place to you if it's more convenient. Just let me know when you're done, I shouldn't be too far away."

    10:05AM - Him - "Ok."

I took this to be a confirmation since he knew I was on my way, and agreed to let me know when he was done. This is the last contact I had with him until 10:55PM that night.

After getting to Gettysburg, the GF and I drove around and grabbed lunch, looked at the Civil War fields and I texted him at 2:24PM "I'm in Gettysburg now"

4:27PM Me - "Hey man how's everything going?"
    5:02PM Called him, no answer
5:14PM Called him, went straight to voicemail. Either turned his phone off or it went dead...
5:20PM Me - "Just sitting here waiting on you man call me so we can work out a time to meet...I have to work at 8am tomorrow"
    5:40PM Called him, no answer

6:24PM Called him, left voicemail to kindly call me back
    6:39PM Called him, no answer

I had been waiting on him to respond for four hours, drove an extra hour to where he was from, and he still wasn't picking up.

So, I let him know that I would wait until 7:15PM before I went home, and that I'd be seeking any legal action available.

10:55PM - He TEXTS me, saying he left his phone at the hospital.

I reply that I understand shit comes up, and that ANY form of communication would have been great so that I knew what was going on. Despite this, I'd be willing to compromise and STILL purchase the camper shell.

He said that if I didn't threaten with legal action he'd be driving it to WV for me, but decided it'd be better to "put it back in the barn and never pull it out again."

    The End.

So you saw my messages at 9:15PM and didn't respond until 10:55PM, nearly two hours later. Your response was a text message, after SEVEN missed calls and countless texts from me.

For your information, I said I'd do some sight-seeing so as to be accommodating to your emergency situation. I didn't drive 8 hours round trip to take a quick look at the battlefields of the Civil War, I promise

I wouldn't stress over it man, water under the bridge now

I do alot of business on craigslist and have been given the run around countless times. It's always annoying, especially on the drive back. The longest I have driven and had hat happen is only 4hours if that's worth anything.

I say if the op contacts you about making another deal he comes to you and gives you a lower price.

The OP has texted me with a resolution...he is paypal'ing me $100 on Thursday for the gas/time I spent.

If he does transfer the money I will drive out to him again to purchase the camper shell on a day we mutually agree on.

Props for doing the right thing Sean, I hope this can all be resolved by the end of next week :)
