    Blessings to you all.

    *little known fact:
Dr. King's "speaches" were really sermons...and he never thought of himself as a great civil rights leader (although this has become his historical legacy)...He wanted to be a great preacher.

Although by most accounts, he was both.

    What a great man...and a great American.

I like that he wanted us to judge people by the "content of their character". That guy^ obviously is a winner. (not the post right above me ha the guy who don't care none for people)

I just want to say that I'm sorry if I offended anyone on this forum with my post. It was a stupid move on my part. I don't expect everybody to forgive me but I still want them to know I'm truly sorry for the remark.

You're right (even though it happened on the 20th as required by the 20th amendment). But, every other amendment is being abused, why should the 20th be any different?

Okay tape my mouth shut now...

    http://www.sos.ms.gov/education_and_publications_holidays.aspx?section=6&subsection1=6&subsection2=3

I find it odd but, my home state (and a few others) have combined MLK day with other "celebrations".

Good job buddy. On line, few people would say they were sorry for anything.

A little of this and a little of that.
A significant person in the history of the Untied States. He strived for equality and went about it in a peaceful way. There's something to be learned from his "sermons" (speeches). HBD MLK!
