I taped off the valance while I plastidipped the chrome pieces first, and then honestly I just sprayed the dye over the plasti dip. Not intentionally, but I figured if some of the spray hit the plasti dip it wouldn't be all that big of a deal. I did the entire thing with the bumper still on the truck, cause I couldn't figure out how to take the piece of shit off without breaking something

    Question:

I picked up a 2nd bed track system to put in my truck. Do you guys think I need to use some angle iron or something like that to help secure them to the bed or just bolt them straight on. Haven't looked at a 2nd gen that closely to see if there was any reinforcement there or not.

Bought some plastidip to play around with and I really want to do my wheels but I'm scared to pull the trigger! (nozzle in this situation haha) I have messed around with it some and sprayed my grille emblem and one of my center caps. What do yall think? Go ahead and do it? I'm wanting to switch over to the silver and black look but didn't want to spray my wheels permanently black yet but I'm still scared to use this stuff too. Guess I'm not used to reversible paint!

Nice to see everyone tinkering today. I just had my Renegade 6 & Duratracs mounted. I just now got around to painting the rear brake drums black. Looks much better.

Thanks I took my time this time. sanded/degreased, primed, 2 coats color, 2 coats clear. All with adding some extra heat with a heat gun in between each coat. Turned out great! I actually did this a month ago and this pic is from today. They are holding up great!

There are two kinds that are basically the same color. Duplicolor or VHT "Graphite".
    1. Sanded with fine sandpaper
    2. Sprayed brake cleaner as a degreaser and cleaned them up real good.
    3. rustoleum self etching primer, heat gun
    4. 1 coat of "graphite", Heat gun, another coat of graphite, Heat gun
    5. 1 coat of rustoleum wheel clear coat, heat gun, another coat, heat gun.

after each coat I used a heat gun and slowly heated the wheel and then let sit for about 5 minutes before i added another coat, and used 2000 grit in in between each coat on the small imperfections. Also, make sure no dust settles on the wheel between coats.

AND WALLAH! They are holding up great! That color would look great on your truck btw. I love my stock wheels now!
