Ready lift body lift, Rough Country brush guard,
So I bought a 12 TRD Off Road a few months ago and i without thinking quickly put a Ready Lift 3 in body lift on it. Shorty after I realized this just wasnt enough for me, Ive asked around and read up on suspension lifts which is where i would like to go next. I just need some direct real advice on what brand or whats my best option for getting another 4 inches or so under the truck.
i dont want go too big to the point where i have to do major modifications, it is my everyday driver and not in my budget to get extreme so im just looking for a safe medium,
    Much appreciated from the newbie

I'd just add another 4 inches to the body lift. ;)

You are running a 3" BL, want another 4" and don't want to break the bank. Also want something safe. Are you a PreRunner or 4WD? Also I would recommend removing the BL because it's not exactly "safe" and install a 6" DB such as fabtech or procomp.

If you are wanting to add another 4" only way you can achieve that is w a drop bracket lift. If going that route you can go with the rcd, zone , or bds 4.5 lift.

Personally I would have never installed a body lift and just saved and just got the right lift in the beginning.

Just double-checking that you do know that for a drop bracket lift, the front crossmember is chopped to install it. In my book that is a major modification to fit a lift. Not to mention if you want to ever go back to a different lift you should save the front crossmember piece so it can be rewelded somehow.

What are you looking to achieve, look or function?

Personally, I'd get rid of the body lift and go with an Old Man Emu suspension lift. You can get a solid 3" from that setup for considerably less than going with Icon. I'm running OME on both my Tacoma and 4Runner and have nothing but good things to say about it.

Going with a drop bracket doesn't really net you any more ground clearance than a good suspension lift. You'll have a big flat face under the engine for mashing into rocks.

well now that im looking into it for my to upgrade to a larger lift going with a suspension kit of some sort i need to go to a 17in rim. If i go with a 6in lift i should be able to run 35s if i want, i have 33s now and i get occasional rubbing something id like to avoid in at all possible

Let me ask you this... what type of off roading are you wanting to do? How frequently? There's not a whole lot that will hold you back on 33" tires but would be doable on 35" tires. If it's a looks thing, to each their own, but you're going to lose a lot on the performance end of things with a V6 pushing around 35" tires. You can expect gas mileage to get down to 12 mpg or worse.

My suggestion would be to just do the 3" lift the right way and stick with your 33's. But that's just my opinion (and this is coming from someone who had 35's on my last truck).

well i just moved to a new area so im not sure what this area has to offer im in tennessee, so i assume its dirt trails and mud. id like to stick with the 33s and my 16in wheels but maybe just get alittle more height and ground clearance, and as i said eliminate the rub that happens while climbing in a turn

A one year old truck with a body lift?

Just drill some holes in some hockey pucks and add them in.
