Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
Why do you think so many people prefer 5100s with OME coils? Just curiuos, seems like alot of people go with that combo, but you cant really use the adjustability. So wouldnt it make sense to go with OME shocks because they are valved to be paired with their coils?

King makes a 14" 700lbs coil . It rides fine before and after . I just want to be at the old hieght and less preload .No worries ask away .

I think a lot of people buy the 5100's, preload their base coils then buy the coils later. With the 883, 884 and 885, you can kick the 5100's up to .85 if they start to sag either from adding a bumper, winch or armor. That's just my guess though.

Would you have to have your Icons revalved if you went with a stiffer coil?

It does pretty good off road,but we have 300 lbs of weight up front between the bumper,skid plate and winch!
I have the 1/2" top plates on the 885's and your not supposed to use them on the 886's,so would it make a differance in height?:confused:

Billy, I'd try to find some local members to ride along. Even if they have the OME 885 coils, it'll ride similar since they are the same spring rate.

Iirc 886s are only 6mm longer, but im sure the higher spring rate would give you a little more lift

I have the same set up and didn't sag that much with the bumper and winch. Hopefully I come back up a little once we get the synthetic line.

You sure its 10? I know 883,884,885 in order are 10mm taller but i thought i read 886s are less than 10mm longer than 885s. I think my 885s are 590

Spring name/Spring rate (N/mm)/Bar dia/Coil length (mm)

OME 883 / 103 / 17 / 375
OME 884 / 103 / 17 / 385

OME 886 / 115 / 18 / 402

so 7mm taller

103 = 588 #/in
115 = 656 #/in

You're welcome to ride along sometime with the Eibachs but they're shorter than you're looking for. You're stuck either either 1.6" of lift or 2.5" of lift if you go with Eibachs. OME coils offer some in between lift heights.

Well the heat went out again. Is there any gas/heat guys on here. I have a Weil Mclain heater and the module flashes red which means locked out. The module will try to light and after I think three tries it will lock out and run the exhaust fan

I have oil heat and a forced hot water system and my controller module was doing the same thing. I needed a new one. Mine went caput on Christmas Eve, which is a nice cheap day of the year to call a repair man... :rolleyes:
