Headed to Barnwell Mountain in the AM

Loaded up for the weekend!!
Tacoma related, cause that's what I'm pulling it with...

Sheesh!! Towed at 60 mph all the way here, tranny (auto)
in 4, got 9.5 MPG...... I've GOT to find another diesel soon.

 

Trip up was using cruise control, on the way back I didn't use it,
and I got 10.5 MPG

 

And the wheeling was.... ??

Short... ripped off the soft top on the second trail (it was old anyway)
on the 4th or 5th trail (Politician, for those familiar with Barnwell)
I think I blew a locker in the rear... made it up using a bypass, with 3
wheels pulling, when I got to the top, I saw that my skid plate had broken,
allowing the transmission to drop by about 3 inches, so I just loaded
it back on the trailer... it was more work than I wanted to do at the park.
Fun while it lasted though. And I was beating on it harder than usual.

 

I was wrong.... at least in part. The LockRite may indeed be done for,
when I tear it down I'll see, but this might be part of the problem too...

 

Holy crap man! That's no fun. I'm headed to Barnwell in May for Toyota Jamboree. They have another big even the first weekend in march for all rigs, but I can't make it out.

 

Tried telling my wife that just because the Jeep was down, the riding didn't
have to stop, we had another 4x4 at the park with us.... she wouldn't go
for it, Tacoma had to get us and the Jeep back home

 

I'm with you, and why I pull my trail rig with my Tacoma. Always have 2 toys
