    I have seen a handful of those, typically it's because whoever did your timing belt pryed the crank pulley off the wrong way. Instead of using the proper puller they probably used a pry bar in the wrong spot, a pry bar in the right location works fine, but in the wrong spot this will happen.

    Headers, K&N intake, Lifted, 4.56 gears via ECGS. Locked in front, LSD in the rear
    I havent done the timing chain on it yet, Its only the 2.7L so it has the chain. Idk if its someting that i could have caused from putting the belts on to tight possibly? But i have always gone by the Haynes manual specs. I guess some people have had this happen now that i have looked online for a bit. Idk why toyota made this two peice crank instead of a solid piece? It looks like the grooved part the belt sits on is just bonded to the pulley with some rubber agent? maybe a vibration dampner or something( Possibly a fail safe clutch system if someting locked up to prevent damage to the crankshaft?)

    I saw the multiple pulleys and figured it was a v6, but I have seen it on both. Most of toyotas crank pulleys are like that since they are harmonic balances and the rubber is what absorbs the vibrations and helps balance (I think). Either way, I have seen on the 4 an 6 cylinder trucks, the Camry/highlander v6 has a recall because of it, and the old 5sfe Camry 4 cylinder used to do it from time to time.

    AHHH yes harmonic balancer, that is what my dad was just telling me. Thanks for the replies Jason glad to hear that it is not super uncommon! Yea i Ordered a new one from the dealer should be here tomorrow morning so ill have it in hopefully by end of day tomorrow after my classes.

    I am trying to limit my withdrawl as much as possible. I know for sure i need to bring $90 for parts, just need to know how much more. The rest of the weekend will go on the debit card (Gas and food).

    On another note, I have been wondering, anyone else bringinng any kiddos? Kyle loves going but i am hoping there will be at least 1 other kid for him to play with since Greg lost his man card and him and Elliot wont be there saturday.
