So... Cloudy. Looking for something simple. Somewhere around 1" tubing with brackets on each end so it can mount up on the bed rails and stretch across the bed. Needs to support a hilift, maybe some lights and a CB antenna.

I'm still looking for mounting brackets that would make the installation drill-less.

Odd, my handle has been feeling odd the last few days. Maybe I should look into it.

you could use the drill-less toolbox mounts but i would reccomend drilling though because it is harder to steal your hi-lift/lights if they are bolted down. afterall, we do live in burque....

    but thats just my $.02

Apparently, they break most often when it's very cold out, which makes sense. Mine broke this morning; it was around 25 degrees out.

Mines been going bad for awhile, as I said; I should have replaced it before it broke. Oh well. It felt like something inside was bending when the door handle was lifted, and got worse over time.

Most of the vehicles I've owned have had issues w/ the door handles as they aged; you'd think that on something like this that gets used constantly, they'd have made it of better material.

I'd blame the bean counters, but they just do what management tells them to. Toyota probably saved $00.0000001 on each handle by making them out of cheap material, which adds up when a bazillion Tacomas are built.

Hey pigger, the door handle replacement isn't that bad I've taken my door apart quite a few times now. I'm pretty much a pro at it. Had to replace my door handles a few times due to cheap materials but my current ones are holding up fine. You could spray some WD40 or your choice of lube (hehehe) to the door latch mechanism area on the door itself to make it easier for the doors to open. Just my .02

    :D

    That's a good idea.

I'm hoping that the new handle lasts at least as long as the first one. Eight years isn't too bad, I guess.

I also need to take my skidplates off and beat them flat again; I have to do this every few years as they (well, the rear one; the front one is stout as heck!) get all bashed up and rattle against things down there. Sounds like hell. I'll probably wait for warmer weather and a better-healed pelvis for that, though.

    Stupid pelvis.

:D I go by that intersection every day on the way home from work. I'm getting over the worst of the aftermath, though, I think.

Applecookie has some pretty bad drivers. :der:

Yes and no. I was there for a month of training that ended up being a show of force for when the war in Iraq started off just in case N. Korea wanted to get squirrelly. Only group of US soldiers to visit the DMZ in uniform.

Feels crazy at first, but I got used to it. Little more flex off road and a butt dyno'd feel of a smoother ride.

Flexing FTW!!!! :D Your suspension is most likely fine at that age, other than the usual weak leafs. Mine is original, and still works great after 9 years. It's nothing like the sweet rigs most here have, though, of course.

Have you had any time to explore any of the places we told you about?

I'm intimidated by most of the trucks on here because I'm always looking at peoples builds :pccoffee: but I'm really happy with my taco, it gets the job done

And no, not yet, I want to though I just don't want to get stuck out there by myself since I'm new at this :help:
