The update could be shocking and add width to this build

4wp is literally right up the street from me. They might have some but mostly keep Jeep crap in stock. I ordered my TG spacers through them for free shipping.

If you do go in there, try to talk to Aaron. He hooks me up sometimes, he has a '85 4runner too.

Picked up a IFS width rear axle today. I didn't want to just slap it under the truck since the po said it was "welded". So I tore into it.

For anyone wondering the difference, Rear axle

    55" wide, '79-85 4wd trucks/4runners - 6 Lug
    58" wide, '86-95 4wd trucks/4runners - 6 Lug

    All tore apart.

And what I found, Half full of water and yes it was welded, but it wasn't welded "properly". Also it had a small chip in one tooth of the ring gear that would cause a slight catch when turned. Glad I took the time to tear it apart, it probably would have broke at the worst possible time. Gonna just use it as a spare.

Gotta pick some 1.5" wheel spacers up for the front. Probably going to get all the brake parts this weekend.

You should go ahead and remove the LSPV, and get a manual proportioning valve. It will make a huge difference.

Still haven't made my mind up. I guess it's going to depend on uncle Sam if I wait that long. I'm considering a spartan for now then moving it up front and upgrading to a griz or Detroit, but I don't know yet. Its driving me crazy having open diffs. I thought about testing the welded diff in the stock axle for a little bit to see how I like that, until I swap the ifs rear in.

I really want some 36's

will you clear the 36's as is?

I have first dibs on the dirty 3's

since the new project will be arriving sometime this week :)

(also, this one is going to kill the budget truck challenge... that is if it works out like I am planning)
