Back is feeling better tonight but it has hurt since mid day Sunday. I think the lower muscles just tightened up on me.

    Evening all!!

    Where's the dinner invite, Jim????!!!!

Carl - wish we could find a good clock guy up here. We've got a grandfather clock that hasn't worked since we moved here 8 years ago. Called the one guy around here who fixes them and he said-don't bother me, I'll call you. Never heard from him again. We'd love to get it fixed.

Temp isdown to 9 and headed south. No complaints, though. This looks like the coldest week for this winter and then we start to climb back towards spring.

    Still hurts a little.

Spent a few hours this morning fine tuning the picture on our larger TV using a Disney WOW disc. Very easy to use and the picture is great. I only tweaked it a little when all is said and done.

:hungry: Did you get dinner for you and Mrs. River Rat?

    Afternoon all:
Seems strange that there aren't more than one in that area, and that's another thing "GOOD". If you would see this guys shop you would fall over, but through my prior dealing with him I know that he can get the job done.
I would say the coo-coo is well over 100 yrs. old and of decent size, so I don't want anyone to mess it up.
I just hope he don't DROP IT! That would be bad!!!!!
Just ask around, I'm sure you can locate someone to fix it, but they are getting few and far between.
I was just told of a guy between Weatherly and Beaver Meadows on Rt.93 that fixes old clocks, but that's also a haul for you. I don't know anything about him except that he fixed a grandfathers clock for the gentleman that I talked to.

Gee, Jim, if you lived up here you could go ice fishing. Fun, huh?? I drove by the State Park lake next to our home and saw a guy out on the lake maybe 5 feet from an area that had been unfrozen the day before. Darwin at work.

Thanks for the contacts, Carl. I've tried to avoid hauling this thing somewhere...but if I'm going to get it fixed I guess I'd better have a different planthen I've been using. :)

Just a bit chilly here today. It was 2 last time I looked and still going down. It's going to be fun heading out to the spa this morning!!

    Morning all:
Mark: I'm not sure, (going back 56-60 yrs.) but I think when my grandmother had a bunch of grandfathers clocks; the guy that fixed them would take the movement out, take it to the shop, repair it, and reinstall it in the clock at the house. I don't think he took the whole clock. Maby on some that can't be done, but I'm sure the movement would have to be removed to work on at the shop. The case is only a housing, and I don't think it has anything to do with the actual workings of the clock.

I don't think there are any tradesmen left that would do that Carl, remember doctors making house calls for $25.oo, milk, bread and eggs delivered right to your door:confused:. What happened to the good old days???

Or is that; Morning Granpoop! Gonna be lots of poop! :D
The guy that has my clock does have house calls listed on his business card, but like you posted, they're getting few and far between. I think we're lucky to still have someone like him in the area. All the local Old Timers, that could repair this type of clock, are long gone.
