The laws are so backwards, lets ban high capacity mags, but keep all pistols on the market, when pistols are used in the majority of gun killings.

Oh lets also keep knives on the market, when they are used as weapons, they are for ASSAULT ONLY.

Yep, Iowa requires you to get a permit to purchase a hand gun. They do background checks and it takes around a month to get that completed now with all the people trying to get one.

Yep, i can go buy an AR (if anyone was willing to sell one right now) with no background check or anything. Takes me a month or so to get a hand gun permit that is good for 1 year to purchase a hand gun.

    we need those too
1 handgun permit lets you buy 1 handgun. if you want more you need to apply for another one, and it takes about a month.
1 rifle permit lets you buy however many in a year

and you need a hunting permit before that

Ban assault rifles at home and put females on the battle lines across the pond....sounds like a good idea.

I understand and respect women wanting to be in battle but I personally think it's not he best idea. Looking past certain physical limitations and the need for additional sanitary considerations. I would be very concerned for a woman that was ever made a prisoner and what she would have to endure. Even more so with he current enemies that we are at war with and their outlook on women in general. I can only imagine that there are some sick bastards hidden in a cave somewhere right now jus salivating at the thought of a female POW.

No worries, I thought you were talking about Ray.

There are some pretty big and buff chicks out there. Just make them pass all the same tests, like the one you just described.

Similar for firefighter tests. Full gear, respirator, hauling hoses upstairs on a tower, time limit...

Besides, half the Army's role now is passing out food and hugs. Chicks dig food and hugs.

Agreed and how many of those murders involve registered guns? I'm sure all the gangs are using registered guns for their drive-by's. If we were seriously concerned about young people being murdered by firearms let's take a harder look at the murder rates in some of the larger cities and the social issues that are driving young people to join gangs and commit crimes. I know I'm tip toeing the political ban on TW but it's just food for thought.

Lets just say that over the weekend I worked a burglary case that involved the theft of a weapon, owned by a law abiding citizen, who used the weapon for hunting.

He was burglarized and robbed of his non-assault weapon by two juveniles, who proceeded to use the weapon in an armed robbery and then fled the scene, leading small town police on a high speed chase in a stolen vehicle.

The burglary occurred in a rural area, and the armed robbery occurred in town of less then 40,000 people.

Someone tell me, please, how the weapons bans laws will prevent ANY of that from happening....
