I might like this truck a little too much  Cleaned her up today after getting alignment. Just the spray wash stall but it was amazing to see the layers of dirt coming off

Haha tell me about it! Guess my situation may have been different since I was adding leafs instead of replacing the whole pack, but getting those damn things lined up with the old springs sucked. Had to create enough room for myself by dropping axle, glad the brake line didn't snap :p Clamps made it possible, surprised my cheapo $5 walmart quick clamps had enough might to keep things together.

Hey everybody, new here and to tacoma ownership. Some nice trucks in here! Got my 2013 a couple weeks ago, loving it so far. I was planning on doing a subtle lift and maybe some new wheels, but this thing rides SWEET as it is, so I'm hesitant to mess with it. Might get a besttop instead.
On my first tank I averaged about 17mpg, do you guys think that will improve as the engine breaks in? My past couple rides were small sedans so I'm used to having a little more pep, so I wasn't exactly easy on the gas. I guess I have to get used to driving a truck again.

I think you'll be pleased after the break in. I'm getting about 21 with a heavy foot.

    Hagen - NOICE
    Seventh - Want x 2!

Hickorylarge - surprised you said it rides sweet as is? I cranked my Bilstein struts up front to 2.5" and it still somehow feels better up there. If I were you (and you had some dollars-and wanted to lift without effin up your good ride) - just order Bilstein 5100 adjustable struts up front and the 5100 shocks for the rear. If you want to level the truck you can choose the .85" setting or the 1.75" setting (seems to vary, some are level at 1.75, but a new truck with stiffer springs probably .85").. No way you'll have anything but improvement in ride quality. Then if you want to do it up you can simply get a $150 leaf progressive leaf pack and crank the fronts up to 1.75 or 2.5"

Dunno bout break in period, this is my first winter with the truck, got it in July so of course it was summer gas. I think I've gotten about 20-22mpg since purchase, consistent with the exception of a tank or two that were around 18 from country roads and driving foolishly. Enjoy your truck, it's purty!

Hour- Thanks for the info man, I'll have to look into that. The only reason I'm hesitant is I used to have a 4cyl Wrangler with a lift and 33"s, and that thing was a total turd and rode like shit. I don't know the specs of all the off road mods though, they were done by the previous owner. I was young and stupidly bought it on impulse.

Thanks. I bought the tires and wheels from craigslist. They were silver and had a few chips and scratches, but the tires only had about a thousand miles on em. I used duplicolor wheel coating and i think it turned out pretty nice. Not as good as factory anthracite, but for $800 I can't complain. Got the center caps done and will post more pics once I put em on.
