... and it's a balmy -24 Celcius tonight down in the county, and it
was -30C last nighyt, which is about -1,000,000 F in American.

It was so fackin' cold that my tires had frozen flat spots when I left for work this morning. Badump, badump, badump .....

Actually that is not as big a number in Fahrenheit as it is in Celsius. The 2 match up at -40 then Celsius numbers become lower again. :D

One other question...are there installation instructions specific to the Tacoma or are they generic? Personally I don't know what is involved in getting to the mirror to take it off.

^^^ I haven't read through all the directions but they are very specific, even to taking the door panels off.

Does anyone know if there is another Toyota option for the defrost switch other than the 2001-2003 Highlander ?

The stealership wants $140 for the switch up here, and I can't find one at any of the local wreckers.

I would like one that fits the hole and has a timer included.

    Thanks in advance!

I know what you mean, they are expensive here especially since I had to buy two.
I bought mine from Toyota Part Sales in TX and had it shipped to a mailbox I have in Niagara Falls NY. I've had literally hundreds of things shipped there including a 2010 Lexus RX350 which we bought from Orlando.
It's been a few years but I think I paid around $60 for the switch back when I installed my heated mirrors.

If you are not close to the border, I could always order one for you, then just mail it to you from Toronto as I go at least once a month to pick up stuff that I have ordered.

    Shawn.

    OK, now you got me.

Was it a teensy-weensy model Lexus?

    or

.... was it shipped in a million individual pieces?

    or

... do you have one big mf of a mailbox?

    ;)

It's actually a warehouse, but to keep track they give people a "mail box" number.
We were going to fly down and drive it home but having it shipped was less then $600.00.

    LOL

Ya, I have a warehouse that is filled with collector cars every night while I sleep, but when I wake up in the morning................ it's empty...
    :(

    jk

But I still have my trucks, trailers, machinery, and most importantly... I'm still looking 'down' at the grass.

    ;-)

    Com'on, Boys.... let's git'er dun!
