Agree, however the first one is a bit of a learning experience. Not hard just follow directions.

Since there is no amp involved I would stay away from componet speakers.

Lots of decent choices that do not need an amp to reproduce the sound. I would probably go with some Pioneer speakers if you are purchasing a Pioneer HU.

I would also look at a 6 1/2 in speaker rather than a 6X9 speaker. For most of the round speakers the diaphram has more travel distance than a larger 6X9 resulting in better bass sound reproduction.

Also do yourself a favor and look at spraker rings from Mr. Marv, a vendor on TW. Upstanding vendor that makes a quality project.

How soon are you looking to do the install and where in MD do you live?

Consensus is 6 1/2 is better than 6x9's? I'm thinking of doing a speaker upgrade also. I'm hoping that just speakers will make a difference, cause I find myself turning this thing to "60" all the time and it's not loud enough...

And 2 sets of 6 1/2's is less than 100 bucks shipped. I've done car stereo stuff before, my mustang in high school was a bit ridiculous.. Eight 12's 700 watts a piece through them... 4 wired for pushing, and 4 more on the opposite end of the tube wired for pushing, the entire trunk was a giant speaker box / amp and capacitor enclosure.. Extra batteries and all.. A bit much but I'm a kid of the early 90's...

I am running a set of BA SA90's and the bass is enough for me. I have an EX cab so sound in the rear is not a big deal. I also did not want to lose the little room I have to a sub enclosure. I am an old fart.

The speaker diaphram has more travel room so they can produce a cleaner lower feequency. That is what makes a great bass speaker. Greater distance of travel to produce a longer wave length.

I'm thinking of selling my BHLM's to get some projector halo lights from eGay. Before I make a f/s thread is there anyone here that would be interested in them? There isn't any cracks or broken anything either.

I have some Toyota Carpeted Floor Mats for a 2010 Tacoma crew cab in Gray. Great condition as I they were only in the truck for a few weeks. $50.00

    I also have the 2013 Owner's Manual Set. $15.00

I will also be selling a set of 2010 Weather Tech for a Crew Cab once I order my set for the 2012. These are a little beat up and they fit the 2012 except for the latching points i have the new turn connectors and the mat was designed for the old style hooks. Price not determined yet.

I don't want to ship so I figured I would give you all first shot.

    I will post pics

Are you planning to retrofit the new headlights? Generally I hear that style has bad light output issues...I've read online that some of them for my Civic actually used a fog light bulb as the low beam...

I heard the same thing about other lights too. I know 2 different people with the lights that I want and they said they are pretty good. Plus I am putting hids in them so maybe they will work better.

Haven't put too much thought into it really. If I had to rate them I would give them a 95% because there is a little tiny chip in the black paint. Vey very small. Honestly I never notice it unless I am waxing my truck. I have seen a lot of them selling around $80- $100. I think I would be in that range if I don't have to ship them. I also need to buy the new headlights before I give the lights up. So I would order them when they sell.

I actually quit working there last month. Couldn't stand the hours and I was offered a really sweet job with my father in law.
