I saw it as well, the price wasn't cheap, but they're the only option.

That's a good read. I'd still prefer the long ranger since its a poly material rather than steel but if it is indeed still just for the hilux that'd be a great alternative. Price is definitely not cheap though. All In all about 2800 bones it looks like

We'll see! I should hear back from overland tomorrow. They were double checking their info, but if it was at sema I gotta think they're making it for NA models now :notsure:

That's one hell of a garage you have with the height to be able to fully open your tent....looks like you had good weather!

    Very nice setup.

Here's the website of the company that makes it. They don't have the tacoma listed yet, but you can guess the range of price.

I've been aware of the 35 gallon custom tank for the Tacoma for some time. And it's nice that there are finally a few solutions out there for those that truly require them. But honestly, I just don't see the point for trucks in the lower 48. If extended range is required fuel cans seem like such a better prospect.

What kind of mileage do you guys get offroading? For the most part I seem to get as low as 4-7mpg doing hard stuff off pavement (slow crawling, lots of idling, hotroding at the dunes, etc). At 4mpg I can get about 84 miles on 1 tank of gas (21.1 gallons). Longest trail I have done was 90 miles (white rim in Moab). I didn't actually drive it though, but fuel wasn't even close to an issue for the 3 rigs that did it (2 1st gens and 1 2nd gen). Pack a couple 5 gallon gas cans and you can go quite a while longer as well.

As cool as a bigger tank could be, I don't think it would be worth it unless you were going on some seriously long desolate trails and at that point I would be more concerned about finding room for all your food and gear for that long of a trip rather than having enough gas. The extra weight of the tank will just bring your fuel economy down as well.

I have made this bed rack custom my self for holding a expo tent, lights, extra camping gear and more. the rack is held on with 10-5/16" bolts and has one flag mount on the top rack. made with 1.50" .120 tubing. i have had the rack for less than a month.
