How do you get the housing blacked out? Is that something sperate from the retrofit kits?

 

Its something a lot of people do while doing retrofits. Its basically cleaning off the reflector bowl and painting it: black, white, green, lol anything you want. So yes it is separate from the kit.

I've decided what I want...i think.

 

You sound like me. I wanted to do this mod, but wasn't ready to do it now...but couldn't pass up 25% off. I changed my mind three different times...I'm sure I drove Burt crazy.

The hardest part for me was picking out the shroud. I think that's what TRS should do...is have pictures showing what each shroud looks like with and without LED's. I know they kind of show them...but the picture weren't very good.

Oh well, the shroud aren't really expensive...so if I don't like...can always change. I'm just excited to get started...

 

As soon as I get mine finished, I'll start a thread for guys to post up pics of their setups.

 

No worries on asking questions or changing orders on me. You have until Monday remember. I'm more than happy to share my opinion on what fits well and if you guys have install questions.

 

For shrouds from my past experience with the second gens comes down to just the large shrouds.

Orbit is what I currently have and looks awesome. MC-R is a great choice as well. In the second gens small shrouds look out of place. My next retrofit is LS460's and should be done in about a month but my off road set will have the new apolo 2's
