Should i get the wheel 17x8 or 17x9? Also I searched and found mixed comments about getting lug centric and hub centric wheels for the pro comps and it confused the Fkk outta me.. so what do I get?

    Thanks:D

I say go with the 17x8's. I'm running lug centric rims like many others and don't have a problem. I think the only problem would be the center bore of the rim....? Don't quote me on that. That's why there is so much confusion on lug or hub centric.

I want to say I read somewhere that ours is 108mm....?

i'd go w/ 8's. more issues w/ frame rub from 8's than 9's. depends on the backspacing though. the less of the backspacing, the wider you can go....except i think that there is no hope for 10's on these 2nd gens

But why would i go with 8s if you just said that more issues with frame rub from 8s? or did you say it wrong.. Backspacing is 4.75 btw!

haha...my bad. it should have read more like.....more frame rub issues w/ 9's than 8's. that backspacing will be ok w/ a 265 tire...but if u are getting a 285, u'll need to get a 4.5" backspace in order to clear the UCA's

i would definately go w/ 8" if u plan on going larger than a 265 width tire. less chance of frame rub and less chance of rub on the UCA's. i think that most go lug centric. i think someone bought some form of hub centric and the hub bore was too small, so they had to router out the bore to make it fit. cant remember the brand of rims though. i believe most of the chevy rims that are our bolt pattern have a smaller hub size than ours

haha...thx man. just helping out if/where i can. i was lookig for wheels the last 2 months. 7089's were on backorder, then the xd122's were on back order, so ended up w/ a set of wheelers 16x8 alloys and they work like a charm. already bought the tires for the 16's before i ordered the wheels, so couldnt change the rim size to get the other wheels i wanted

I'm no big fan of spacers, but is anyone running a .25-5" spacer on a 4.75" backspace? I wanted to get the 7089's in 9" width and was planning on longer studs to run the spacer if necessary....

Tacoguy, these wheels are gonna look sweet brutha!

One of the guys that runs pro comp 7089 with 285s told me to go with 8" width because of the bigger tire so I'm going with that
