Wow, that looks great! I especially love the armrests! I want to do that to mine too, but I am scared of ruining it with the drill haha. Where did you get the carbon fiber vinyl at?

Sorry for the late reply man.... the Carbon Fiber vinyl was found on E-bay.... got an entire roll for around $30.00.

Also, been working on getting my new wheel and tire combo, for the lift I'm planning!

So far, all I have is the wheels, but picked up 4 of these locally for $300.00. I'm looking into refurbishing them, and may even powder coat them if I can get them done for a good price:

Nice truck Fightman80, but when are you going to eliminate the hood scoop? When I go climbing they really get in the way.

I don't have one on my 2011 Taco, but have a functional one on my 1966 CAV and has about 300 more hp too. LOL :D Boy toys are fun aren't they. I can see that you have been having a lot of fun with yours too. Keep having fun life is short. :(

PS: As you can see in the middle picture I haven't put a lift on the gt-40 yet. ;)

Thanks for the compliments guys! Been having fun modding this truck! I can't foresee getting rid of my hood scoop, as it was one of the main things I was looking for in a Taco! lol!

I know it's not functional, but have been driving my 98 4Runner for years, wanting a scoop, and never did get one. Until this summer, I almost had one in my grasps, and well.... instead of spending my money on a scoop, I used the money as a down payment to buy one that already had one! lol!

BTW, that GT40 is nice! I love older muscle cars and street rods, and enjoy the looks of a white and blue GT40!

I've got more planned for this truck, so stay tuned, and let me know what you all think! :)

I think the Rigid Industries 11021 E Series 10 in. Spot Light would fit inside your hood scoop. :D

Well, gave the Taco it's first Oil Change since I bought it! Damn Stealership, tightened that filter on so hard, that I had to punch a screw driver through it, and turn it using that! The filter wrench just rounded the damn filter, and no way was it coming off with just my hand!

    420340_10151471926195020_1635884471_n_zp_1d48b410b83577f065afc20569a5c37ce31715f0.jpg

I swear they do this, to discourage people from doing their own Oil Changes!! lol!

Also.... thinking of naming the Taco.... "The Contender". What do you all think??

Mines just a plastic one... but like I said... if it's hand tightened... you don't need a wrench to get these off.... I've never used one on my 4Runner since I've bought it... and that is over 8 years ago, and many oil changes later! lol!

Alright, so I can't wait for funds to get collected to do my lift, and have to do some mods! lol!

Decided to take a page from the 4Runner's build, and add some underhood lights!

    DSCF7381_zpsc8418001_b6a5b453ba44eee5cab9d4134aba4a887bc9cc14.jpg

These are the same lights I have on the 4Runner! lol!

    DSCF6480_7cfe9e6cf7665531641da823600e15beb722b361.jpg

Since I've used these on my previous build, I did things the same and hooked everything up using a contact switch...

Ran the wires inside the hood supports....

LED's in hood are awesome! just added to my to-do list (it's getting very long) need summer to get here soon lol

might be a dumb question but... how do you wire those up? I've never been electrically savvy, I know it's probably pretty straight forward but any tips would help... also what type of wire etc...

    thanks!~

Thanks man! Wire the lights is pretty straight forward, but you need to make sure you pay attention to one single fact: Positive wire is actually the Negative, and the Negative wire is actually the positive. On my LED lights, the white was actually a ground, and the black was my power line.

First thing I did was mount the lights to the underside of my hood. Once mounted, I wired up some longer wire to my short ends on the lights, and ran the wires through the bracing of the hood.

I then ran the wire along the side of the inner fender, and ran the white line to my contact switch.

Next I ran the black wire to my positive post on my battery, and finally sat back, and enjoyed them, as I drank an ice cold beer! ;)

P.S: IF anyone wants me to post up some more detailed pics, I can modify my original post, and add some text. Just let me know! :)

been working as a mechanic for a few years now and i have never once used a oil filter wrench on one i put on. When ever we get a car that has always been serviced by a dealership it takes a lot to get them off all they need to be is hand tight.

I used some 16 gauge primary wire. Got it at my local Tractor Supply store.... :)
