    Hey guys,

Just installed my Aero Turbine 2525XL muffler yesterday, and so far I LOVE IT! It's got a nice deep throaty tone in the low RPM's and then it screams bloody murder in the high end.

But...........it's still not loud enough for me :)

I grew up with a Mustang GT, straight piped, and a 1965 Shelby Cobra with long tube headers, and countless motorcycles. I like loud things ;)

So I was thinking the best thing to do is to install an electric cutout after the cats, before the Aero Turbine.

QTP sells a complete kit with interior mounted switch for $232.00. I think I'm going to purchase and install this sometime soon...wanted to see what others thought about it. I'd love to rip it wide open when wheeling and then run the Aero Turbine on the street.

What do you guys think? Any interest? Maybe a GB?

My buddy has a similar set up on his transam behind the long tube headers, needless to say its badass! Me personally I would keep the crappy quite exhaust and have the cuts outs just for messing with people and cops. "Disturbing the piece? It couldn't be me officer see how quite my truck is (purr purr)." Then when your off the hook hit the switch and let it roar!!

California emissions laws. I'm already pushing my limits with the new muffler...headers and Y-pipe would be way too loud all the time. The level it is right now with the AT muffler is perfect for street use. Loud enough to tickle my fancy, and quiet enough to keep the cops attention on the ricers.

No way...I've ran my truck without the second half of the exhaust before, cut off right after the cats. It's pretty badass.

    Done, and done.

I'd love to be the first to use this kit on the forums, and I've been meaning to do a write-up for something since all I ever do is mooch off other people's write-ups without ever offering one of my own

This idea is on the same level as obnoxious stacks on diesels and fart cans on Honda's.

Also could cause a forest fire if used off-road....No real spark arresting if your running open headers. Plus, it just gives the tree huggers more reason to complain about loud vehicles in ORV parks.

Oh and its a v6 Tacoma, no hot rod muscle car with a SBC

:notsure: no old man here...guess I just appreciate mods that add functionality rather then draw attention and serve no purpose outside of making your truck sound like a 94 s10 with a rotted out exhaust lol.....that was cool in high school. Especially weary because the OP lives in California. They take emissions modification pretty serious, and I'm sure everyone that enjoys the off-road parks would agree that stupid things like a loud exhaust that is a fire hazard puts the off-road community in the spotlight. Tread lightly.

Sorry if I sound like an ass...just think it's silly. To each his own.

This is just my opinion and I mean no disrespect. I have a hard time understanding how someone that has owned a Mustang GT, a 1965 Shelby Cobra with long tube headers, and countless motorcycles could possibly think a bone stock 4.0 would sound bad ass with open exhaust. Again in my and only my opinion it will sound like a tractor, just my .02.

You guys might be forgetting that most of my wheeling is in areas that haven't seen rain in months, let alone plants or dry brush. Mostly rocks, sand, dirt, and the occasional snow run if the conditions are right. I'm a geographer, so trust me I know how I'm impacting my environments. It's my job to know and reduce the impact everybody else has.

I have no problem admitting it....I just want to braaaaap. I went from muscle car to import tuner, to quiet slow truck. This is just a way to gain a little bit of that spark I lost when I bought my sleeping giant (compared to my other cars).

Call me young, call me stupid, call me whatever. I just like the option. Corvettes come standard with this feature now in the form of a butterfly valve and enthusiasts can't say more about it.

I've ran my truck with open exhaust after the cats. It's not a tractor, it's not a V8, it's just loud. And I like loud. To each his own, and it's just my opinion.

    Haters gonn hate. :)
