differential swap in sport?

    3'' pro comp front lift, all pro leaf springs. afe intake, avid offroad light bar
    wondering if i can swap out my lsd in my sport for a E-locker out of an offroad? just looking for the cheapest way to get a optional locking diff. if anyones done this or knows the answer it would be a great help. thanks

    You'd probably spend less or around the same to just add an ARB in the rear, could be wrong tho.

    if you cant swap a mech lsd for a elocker can you swap a mech lsd from like an 07 or 08 into an sr5 dif of like an 11? not to thread jack just very curious.

    This. The Sport has a 8.4 diff and the Off-Road has a 8.0 diff. Not the same.

    sooooo, does that mean you can put an 07 mech lsd in a 2011 sr5? i know there are a lot more electronics in the 11 that arent in the 07 but im sure that could be worked out but im talking about just pull out the third and put it the other one???? that possible?

    It has been said, but you need the entire rear axle. not just the differential to swap for an elocker.

    I was thinking of looking for one out of a junk yard in good shape and doing a whole axle swap as long as they're compatable and wiring it in myself

    Just to be certain I'm reading this correctly. The non-TRD prerunner and 4x4 would both have the 8.4 ring gear diff? So am I correct to assume my 12' 4.0 DCSB prerunner would have the 8.4 rear? Just trying to figure this out.
