    Speaking from experience?

Let's skip the name calling and try to keep helping the OP. What would a person from your part of the swamps in Florida do?

Get one of these tailgate pads like the mountain bikers have, even if you haven't mastered the tricycle and moved into a bike yet. You can even get them in ALL the colors you like, see the one on the right.

The thread is just a joke. You don't get it. But here in hicksomville that is exactly what they would do. A big rebel flag would do it.

Its a good idea to have this on all trucks that back up at times, being that, since we face forward, when backing up, there is no way to see what you might hit, so if a person were to wander behind you, it would provide a nice soft impact zone for protection against damage to the tail gate.

Right...but you still need protection from dents, and blood stains.

I'd have one special made to fit the whole tailgate, you know like the stickers for the whole rear window.

Well, when you special ordered your tailgate stickers from Sockmonkey, why did you insist on the super permanent adhesive when he strongly advised against it??

... See what happened, now you screwed yourself. :D
