Only 55? I would have guessed at least 70mpg. I get about 40-45 on my 1000cc Concours and 50 on my 650 KLR. Have you got a heavy wrist?;)

Not quite. We can barely meet current demands as it is. But if course, this is how the oil companies like it. Regardless, my statement had to do more with the fact that the President, no matter what his politics, can really do very little about the price of a barrel of oil. So, the only other way he can affect the price of gas (as we of course must protect the spotted owl or whatever critter environmentalists are screaming about this week) would be to increase the production rate of gasoline, which would at least reduce amount the 15% or so of the overall cost refining capacity adds to the actual price at the pump.

I agree, i hate bush but i dont think he is affecting the price of oil all around the world. In England they pay twice as much as we do and last i checked they had a different ding dong running england. anyway, right now i dont think anything is going to bring prices down, especially a new prez.

yeah heavy wrist, ass, stomach lol but the front tire seems really light lol seriously though I think it only gets 55 since I get in it pretty good to stay up with traffic and it runs around 6500rpm at 60mph gotta love that 14000 redline...like f1 race everytime I go to the store lol

I'm sure politics are the wrong thing to be discussing on this board but it seems to me gas prices were far more reasonable before the head ding dong went into Iraq looking for WMD.

You can't expect to get paid for that. You have to perfect the science of "Australian" plumbing.

I'd enjoy having a TC as a daily driver. The Tacoma is great, but I'd like a zippy little car to hit the corners and get door dings.

Not sure about vehicles, but I'm really trying to work out how to make biodiesel at home. Not for the cars, but for the oil furnace since that's at $4/gal already. Propane is double now too. Used to cost $9 to fill my 20lb tank, now it costs $16, and they told me it would be $20 by summer.

Needless to say we're using more wood pellets to heat the house, I'm hell-bent on getting the wood stove set up in the barn (to save using a propane heater), researching biodiesel, AND looking into an electric on-demand water heater so we can shut the damn furnace off during summer and fall.

So it's not JUST gas prices, it's also what you cook and heat with. It's fucking ridiculous! People will be working just to put gas in the car to get to work. And maybe heat their house with what's left over.

Meanwhile oil execs are getting $380+ million packages like mentioned before. Now THAT is complete and udder bullshit IMO.
