I have a 2012 Tacoma and installed the OME lift kit w/diff drop and rear drive line center bearing spacers as included with the kit at 6000 miles on the ODO . I'm now at 15,000 and starting feeling the vibration on very cold mornings 30 deg. at 20mph to 30mph for the first 1 to 2 miles of driving the vehicle. As soon as things start warning up the vibration or humming goes away until the next cold start and drive cycle. Just read this entire discussion over the past two days. I didn't hesitate and ordered the bushing, pullier tool, oil seal and installation kit and am now just waiting for it to all come in so I can be done with this problem before any more problems arise as a result of not addressing it. I am very thankful of the Tacoma World Forums and all the great information found hear. Can't wait to update you all when the install is completed. For those of you who have already installed the bushing how many miles have you driven the vehicle and has it been successful so far with no further problems? I found one person that posted he has driven approx. 10,000 miles so far.

So... I have a 2" leveling kit on my 2010 double cab. As soon as I put this on, there was an immediate pulsing vibration between 30-40mph. Also, when decelerating between 15mph and 0mph, there is a different vibe. Does that sound like CB or diff bearing?

OK, So who is putting this new bushing in for you guys. I know many are doing it themselves but I don't have a place to do it.

Also what are the local 4x4 shops saying about doing this type of install. And having to stand behind any issues.

One more has anyone taken the ECGS video to a dealer and brought the question of proper repair of the problem out in the open. I need the fix.

I had it done at High Country 4x4 in Denver, CO. They followed the video instructions with no problems. I had the seal replaced at the same time and my growl is gone. I would think any independent 4x4 show would it. I could not get my independent Toyota shop to handle it, due to the Toyota Parts only policy.

Good thinkin I just talked to the garage that put my lift on and they think they can do it. They said if it can be done with the diff in the truck they can most likely do it. From what I ready the diff doesn't need opened up for this install let me know if I'm wrong thanks. They don't regear trucks they send that work out but the mechanic seemed confident I'm supposed to send him the instructions

They do not have to remove or open the diff.

Sweet what do you think is reasonable price for install? What all should I order from ecgs? Bushing removal tool and seal? They should have a thing to knock it back into place wouldn't you think or should I order that too

They may not have the proper tools to remove it correctly, so I would say order the removal tool, but installation, I just used a 1 1/2" socket turned backwards with an extension to drive the bushing in.

A little far from me, but if you were closer, I say I could do it.

So I poked my passenger side outer boot and sprayed all the greese out doing this...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-nI8ivc9hI

Anywho, is there a specific post/write up on replacing the boot? Tools needed? Etc.?

I just want to make sure I have everything needed before I tear apart the truck.

Got the bushing and removal tool but I'm not so sure I have the skills to get the job done (or shop space). Anybody with experience swapping these want to lend a hand in the next month? I live in Park City but I'm down in Salt Lake all the time and I'd rather pay a TW member than my lift shop. Send me a PM if interested. Thanks!

Any shop should be able to do this just refer them to ecgs videos. Should only take about 200 max
