Yeah... that's where I found them at my Wal-Mart too... near/in the towing/RV section.

I ordered mine from HERE. It took about 10 days to arrive with their ground shipping, kinda slow, but not that bad. It took me a minute to install it, easiest mod ever! Now I worry a lot less about tailgate theft. :)

If you put a regular hose clamp "upside down"....the screw slot down toward the ground, you have to tighten it with a 5/16 wrench. You can only turn it a very little bit at a time, so I would hope a thief would not invest the effort to try to loosen the clamp.

I just went to my local Walmart in Poway, CA. The guys working in the automotive department told me they discontinued them. They knew about them and even described them to me. They are called Turn-Key Clamps they said. So.... I went to AutoZone, Dixieline, Cheif Auto Parts, Napa Auto Parts, and Kragen. Kargen finally had them. $3.99 for two. Size #20 5Y020V. They didnt have the inch measurement on the packaging. As a side note...... AutoZone and Dixieline had the regular ones, but I wanted the ones with the removable key.

I have to say holy cow! I never would have thunk it...ever. I am a newbie to the forum as you can tell, but not trucks and I have never heard of tailgate theft being such a problem.

Thanks, but all of the sudden I am paranoid!

Put a hose clamp on your tailgate, or get one similar to the one in my vid. You should be fine. :)
