Does anyone weld? I have some sliders that need to be mounted.

Son of bish - an easy run nearby to me on a day I had nothing going.

 

I can weld pretty good w a wirefeed, need more practice w a stick tho... I've built all my armor

 

but then again it may not have been that easy since none of the people who said they were/might be going HAVE NEVER BEEN HEARD FROM AGAIN!!

Sorry, I got to puttering today and didn't jump back on.

Kerriston is a no go, at least from anywhere on the west or south. The entire area has either been privatized or has been rezoned as a watershed by the long arm (really long arm) of the city of Seattle. There was a lot of money in signs - a sign about every 100 feet for the entire stretch along HWY 18, then down until you get to Ravensdale.
Tried going in via NF-54, but that is blocked by some state building that has to do with the reservoir.

We finally hit into Wilkeson and did some forest roads out there. Hit some icy snow around 2pm and turned it around - I'm not messing with that stuff this late in the day!

Overall a pretty laid back trip. Kinda glad to only have two rigs, made it faster to explore. If anyone is insistent in trying harder, I suggest Winery road nearer North Bend, or keep pushing around to the east.

Went exploring in the Sumas/Mt. Baker area with a couple of friends. Managed to find some snow, and had an excellent day! Owner of the black Tacoma has a 2 Meter HAM setup with APRS position reporting on it, pretty cool and considering throwing one in my rig as well.

What a difference a locker and re-gear has made!! Wa Wa Wee Wa!!

Was fun. Got to break in the new gear in front and check that the front locker actually works. Overall, a fun day. Sorry, no pics.

For those interested, we turned left onto Railroad Ave, in Wilkeson, at the north end of town and followed FS-7710 back into the hills. Miles and miles of FS roads back in there.

Feb. 9th & 17th from 10-3
Mar. 9th & 24th from 10-3

Great opportunity to run the course before it's officially opened to the public and also provide feedback about the new park. Let's get something planned and get up there!!!

 

About time they start opening it up again.

I used to go up there back in the day with my cousin and buddies.

 

I guess I'm more pessimistic - I think I'd drag my butt end I really wish I had a rear bumper... one of these days maybe, right?

There's a good chance we would need to wait until some snow melt before Galena and the washout are reach-able, but we can always see how far we can get. What do you think??
