im getting a squeaking sound kind of like a bad serpentine belt when i accelerate hard from dead stop, i believe it's coming somewhere around the driveshaft area

Also i experience vibration under acceleration anywhere from 10-60mph if i let go of the gas the vibration stops, it seems to me like its getting worse as time progresses

the tires are balanced and all is aligned properly, i check my engine mounts and they seems to be ok. i was looking into this in the forum and i think it could be the u-joints or the carrier bearing i just need your opinion on it point me in the right direction

ya...U joints. I just did mine at 88K. They're kind of a pain in the ass if you have never done them yourself before, but it really isn't that hard. The thought of it is worse than the actual procedure...and there cheap. Three universal joints ( your in there so you replace all of them) are like 24 bucks each?...it'll take you a few hours if you don't have a u joint press. I used an air socket and hammer to get them out. Lot of noise, ALOT of cursing, but got it done.

Generally a squeak squeak squeak noise like that is a u-joint. If it were the carrier bearing I would expect more of a groaning rotational noise for a while. Lift up the back of the truck to take the load off the driveshaft and then wiggle every u joint location. The u joints get dry, and that is what causes the squeak, then they break and lose needle bearings. That is when they start to vibrate.

Mark the ends of the shaft, so that you get it exactly back together right. Draw one line from the trans to the shaft, and two from the pinion to the shaft. You're trying to keep the ends in the same orientation as they were removed.
Rent a ball joint press from Autozone. The C-press works well for u-joints.

Am I going to press the caps of the new ones in just like I would press the old ones out?

Yes. Make sure the new ones have plenty of lube, to hold the needle bearings on it. Ensure you don't accidentally bend one while pressing. Make sure the cap with the new grease zerk isn't stripped out, and remove it before pressing the cap in. Moog u-joints come with a flush zerk, and require a tapered-tip adapter for a regular grease gun(at autozone, $5 ish)

Check the carrier bearing when you have the shaft out. It should be smooth without any noise, flat spots, chattering, etc. Check the slip joint for smooth operation. Disassemble, clean, and regrease, as necessary.

A moly-based EP rated grease is what is normally used, but an EP rated synthetic is best.

Same symptom with mine, at 101,000 miles. Started out squeaking and then turned into a vibration. It's in the shop today getting a U-Joint replaced. $150 bucks. Not bad to save me a few hours of cursing and some busted knuckles.

Had the same squeak in my 07. Like everyone else said, it's the U Joint. When I pulled mine, there was no grease left in it. I didn't have to press anything in or out. Few taps with a small hammer and a wood block removed the old one and reset the new one easily. Took me about 45 min to do it whole laying under the truck. Never removed the driveshaft.
