yeah..too pricey for a broke ass college kid.

im basically looking at almost a direct swap or within a few grand.

luckily pops said he can pick up the difference and work out payments with me so I dont have to deal with interest.

we shall see. I just put the truck up tonight and have 2 emails off the CL ad.

and one guy is interested from my kayak forum

one of the guys on CL is offering a trade with an 08 z71 4x4 with like 84k on the clock. might check into that

even with the remodel i still think it will look too much like a POS dodge on steroids.

the only tundys ive seen and liked are the ones with like 9-12 inches of lift and 37s lol

chevy with 84k= a toyota with 250k on the clock.

The newer chevy's are garbage...I worked in a chevy chassis every day for 10 months..and its amazing how many problems they have. We had 10 brand new trucks with chevy chassis, and 5 of them were out of service on a weekly basis...mostly due to motor and transmission issues. they are junk...and these all had less than 75k on them.

Our ford trucks never quit ticking...most had 250k+

If I ever needed (which I never will) a full size, I would probably go ford f150....the newer f150's are pretty sweet.

But I never foresee my tacoma ever needing replacement. I will drive it till it dies...then revive it...and drive it some more.

Really the fords never stop? I used to work on them when i worked at ford, every 6.0 in their fleet came in needing work. And the chevy's don't? Funny cause i bet the DMaxes have no where near the problems chevys do.

I dont like fords was always into GM.If I was going full size now it would be F150 Like the inside & love a 6 banger the can pump out 365HP -420--FPT Toyota needs to get there head out of there ass and come up with a off the lot V6 like that. The fam boys will line up around the block!!

This x1000. Ive driven a new z71 silverado 1500, and yeah it was nice to ve in something bigger, but i just wasnt too impressed. And personally out of all the new full sizes out there, id say the ford looks the best too.

oh the ford's would eventually stop...but they would go OOS a lot less than the GM/chevy chassis did.

My current employer (Volusia county EMS) is switching from the ford F350's to a Dodge 4500 cummins....good switch IMO...We like them a lot better than the fords so far, the mechanics say they are much easier to work on too.

Because there is a huge difference then a V8 and a I6.... But V8's will make more power stock for stock. Just wish dodge would do something with those trannys tho

My Fathers 1999 Ford Cargo van has over 500k and is driven a few hundred a night delivering freight.

His new GMC box truck is nearing 180k and he thinks it won't go more than another 100k.
