    As stated above.. calorie deficit and lift weights. Lifting weights causes a hormonal change in your body. Hormones are responsible for fat building in stubborn places ie guts for men, legs and ass for women. 4 weeks on a strict diet with exercise you will get really great results.

    Here's the thing about goals. When I was 170 I wanted to be 185. Then 195. Then 200 was enough. Then 215. Then 225. And now I'm thinking 235-240 will be enough.

    Thanks guys. I'm working out 3x week and will be bumping it up to 5 pretty soon. I'm working on the diet, but it's tough to get the Fiance to go along with it. I definitely need to do more cardio though.

    Table push aways!

    LOL, keep strength training there but lower the volume and increase the frequency (3x5 reps/sets at 3x a week) and drop calories to 10-12x BW! Get lean quick then slowly raise calories to keep building muscle!

    I've lost 5-7lbs in the last 2 weeks at 1600-1700 calories and nothing but BW training and running! Current weight is 172 @ 5'11" but have 10lbs of chub around my abs.....at 160 I should have pretty close to a 6pack!

    I'm 185-186 @5'7...with abs. I would shoot for 195-205 with abs if I were you...

    Sounds good on paper but I'm a hardgainer/ectomorph and was fat at 200lbs lifting heavy and eating lots of food! Plus I perform better being lighter and agile!

    Your body type seems to be an endomorph and responds well to lots of cardio and volume.....mine doesn't!

    This is just my experience!

    I've been doing a lot of low weight high reps when I'm at the gym. I'm naturally a bigger and more defined body type, so getting bigger isn't what I want. I'm 6' 1" and 221 right now. I'm looking to get below 200 and just overall more toned. I'm going to start running at least a mile (will do more as I get back into shape) 5 days a week and I will be playing soccer every Friday. I already run a mile 3x a week.

    More calorie burning and good diet will do you good then! I've got a buddy that puts on muscle just walking through the gym doors and I've struggled putting it on for years (same workouts and all)! Everyone has a different type of body and have to find what works for you!

    Sounds like you and I are built pretty similarly, I hover right around 165 lean body weight, really hard to put on muscle.
