I probably will. I'm really not too worried, we live in what is I guess a lakefront community, so everyone knows everyone and is generally pretty cognizant of who should and should not be around.

Wish I could trust my area that much. I usually end up having stuff shipped to a UPS store so someone is there to sign for it and it won't go missing.

That sucks. We are pretty fortunate. We have occasional burglaries in our town, but the police blotter is mainly dead deer, loitering teens, and fender benders.

So good news, I sprayed my truck off today as I almost forgot what it looks like not covered in shit...

Bad news, the fucking spray on bed liner I used on my sliders is peeling the fuck off. WTF??? I'm so pissed, these fucking sliders are more work then they are worth just to stay looking somewhat presentable and I haven't even bounced them off any rocks yet.... Grrrr!! Well I think I'm just going to take them off and figure it out, fuck it I may not even put them back on.

I was thinking when I get around to sliders I was gonna have a body shop do the rhynoliner thing. Anytime I spray stuff it looks really nice but never hold up like professional work.

Powder coat them? Or strip everything off and clean/ scuff them really well. Then take them to get bed lined. I bet it would be relatively cheap to get them bedlined since there is very little surface area.

Yea I threw the idea around but ultimately they are just beating bags for rocks... I mean at least if I was scraping them off of rocks I couldn't be so mad and discouraged.

Well if Rhynoliner is done properly, shouldn't it hold up pretty well against rocks?

It's all in the prep work. You gotta scuff everything up well for paint or bedliner to stick. If it's peeling, that means you didn't get good adhesion. Could have been the prep job or it could have been too cold/humid/etc when you sprayed or it could have been that the bed liner wasn't compatible with the previously applied paint.

Not if you really drag it down a piece of granite. It will do OK, but will get knicked off if you really use them.

My thought is this: I'd just get them professionally bed lined, and then when they do get knicked from rocks or extreme mall crawling touch it up with some self etching primer/ spray on bed liner. If you actually use them there is really no magic coating that will resist rocks. Bed liner is some strong shit though, and will take the most abuse out of all available coatings.

My thought is the exact opposite. If you really use them, like beating them up every weekend, why pay for someone to professionally apply bedliner. When it does scrape off, you'll never be able to patch it and make it look nice since you don't have the same products. That's why a lot of people just rattle can them. It's not very durable but it's very easy and cheap to touch up. Either way, if you're going to actually use them, I would only coat them in something that can be easily repaired when the time comes.

Dual vvti, shorter wheel base, newer, nicer.... But I have put so much into my truck and didn't want to start over when I could just keep making my truck better

When I almost got the 4Runner it had the dual vvt-i. Only 30 more HP, MPGs not really any better. It was nice, so are the FJs, just can't see replacing my Taco with either.

I've been considering coating my n-fabs in bedliner for offroading. They're SS so if I didn't touch them up right away they won't rust away.

Yea same. I don't see myself getting rid of this truck. If I did, it would be a raptor. And I could never afford a raptor if I wanted to eat or have a warm house, so looks like my truck it is...
