Does anyone have any experience with dropper seat posts? I was thinking about it maybe this year it just seems convenient to drop it or raise it at will. Any info would be appreciated thanks.

Kevin, that Spec you asked about on the previous page looks like a good deal. Screams for a fork upgrade perhaps but otherwise looks nice and well priced. Not sure about that shock, but probably fine. I'd make sure model year listed looks correct.

I just got a gravity dropper and love it. Kinda pointless where I live, but its a hoot for techy stuff and steep chutes. I've really enjoyed having it and its just another toy to up the fun factor. Significant weight penalty....

I have a Rockshox Reverb. Been happy with the concept. There are a number of other droppers on the market as well.

I bought a first gen Rock Shox Reverb. It isn't the troublesome first first gen as they were constantly failing. I love it. It is the best thing since sliced bread. I find myself using it more and more.

ive ridden two bikes with rock shox reverbs. I love being able to adjust on the fly. especially the infinite adjustability. I felt like they werent built the best. that could be since they were demo bikes though.

Ive heard good things about the KS lev which the shop has to demo so I really want to try that. I like the price of the new KS eten. I would definitely like to see a long term review of it though, it is like half the price of most droppers at like $150 so im guessing quality took a hit unless all the price was shaved from only being available in 100mm and single bolt seat rail

Did some checking on my bike the other night and discovered that Specialized has clamps on the frame to route the cables like they are. I was hoping I could maybe re-route them but looks like they are pretty much where they were meant to be. I haven't had any real problems yet, still loving the bike and we have had some really nice weather here to ride in the last several days with temps in the low 70's.

Im also looking for a bike for my wife. Shes riding an old fuji (junk), way small...
I found a '08 specialized 29er in a small frame that looked nice. I really think she needs an XS frame though, she's only 5' tall...

Thats what I was thinking. Thanks.
We only have one LBS in town and they sell Giant and Felt. The next town over sells spec bikes though so we might take a ride up there.

Sick bike! Im so :jellydance: of the DH bikes.

Pretty sweet bike it's heavy. I've ridden it in town just messing around and it's wicked fun.

It looks like the front fork has more travel than lots of vehicles on the road! haha

It does. Jumped a 20 stair and was smooth as butter.

At 5' and xs, I'd think the benefits of 29 wheels would be negated, especially in a 2008 where arguably the geometry may not have quite been perfected. Make sure and test ride it and some others for comparison before committing.
