I have 285/70/17s on 4.5 backspacing mickey Thomson classic locks they rub at full lock, but its nothing a cab mount chop won't fix. It really doesn't rub that bad just a little noise.

It's not that there isn't enough lift, too much "spacer" or too low of a back space changes the where the tire ride in the wheel well add in 285's are a little wider than stock and you've got rub. Hell, if I space my wheels out an inch and they'd rub and they're only 10 inches wide. Im pretty sure if you wanna run a 285's with out rubbing, a cab mount chop is required.

    ^^ This.

I had to trim a bit of the plastic on my inner wheel well. And If I wasn't such a lazy asshole I would get the chop done. The main bit of rubbing I have is from the cab mount.

I'm down for an impromptu Hickory Wawa meet...We can either park next to the pigs or the shitty jeeps and lifted trucks to create a new Wawa gang! Or the guy with the hearse if he has it out this time of year...

Ok maybe I won't go now...not down for that...

Sound's like you have the same disease as me...so sad

So maybe a different tire size would work better with 4.5" back spaced rims? Or what would you suggest?

Gotcha my thing right now is being on a college budget so I want to stay with 16 inch rims now and lift and tires in a dew months. Just trying to figure out.the right size is challenging to me. On my other cars just bought33s or 35s and 15 inch rim and called it a day.

Hell, I'm not in college and kept my wheels stock cause I'm cheap ;) I'm running 255/85'son the stock wheels no rub whatsoever. Granted I got away with that by removing my mud flaps. No plastic trimming other than what I did for my plate bumper. The 255/85's prolly aren't for everyone, I don't need the aggressive "stance" I've owned and driven plenty of monster jeeps, so at least for me, I'm over the form / function thing.

What size rim 16s or 17s? And I agree my goal is to not have to do a cab mount chop either

Same I would rather have a less aggressive tire, but I'm not sure they would fit with what I'm thinking because I dont want to lose my mud flaps really salty in WV in the winter and they keep the salt off my truck and I dont plan on trimming for a bumper so I will have to look into it.

3" Lift OME 885's with a top plate spacer in front, Toytec AAL in rear, OME Nitrochargers, DWreck/FamousFab bolt on sliders, 255/85R16' KM2's
I could bring my truck up to WAWA as well, if you want to check out a truck on 255/85r16s. I have a 3" OME lift on my truck.

That would be awesome. Do you have these rubbing problems etc?
