I am visiting Indianapolis this weekend and am relocating out there next month for work. Hope to meet you guys once I get settled in. Any suggestions on where I should look to rent a place within 20 mins of downtown and the airport? Looking for a 2BR, 2BA, + 2 car garage, prefer a condo or townhouse so I won't be responsible for lawncare. So far, I will be looking in the Avon, Greenwood, Eagle Creek areas. I would rather stay on the westside or southside since some travel will be associated with work. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

MC, if you are looking for someplace convenient to the airport AND downtown, also check out Plainfield and Moorseville. Traffic on the SW side of Indy is significantly less than the other sides of town. Avon does not have direct freeway access (ie multiple stoplights) to downtown. Brownsburg is another possibility (north of Avon but on I-74), but again will take a little longer to get downtown. The overall taxes in Marion County (Indianapolis) seem to be a bit higher than in the surrounding counties.

Thanks, I have a realtor who will be showing me around and I will ask if they know of any rentals in that area. Secondly, any suggestions on a sports bar/restaurant near the airport to catch the football games on sunday?

There's a Bubbaz Sports Bar & Grill on SR 267 between I-70 and US-40. That's about 1 mile west of the west end of the airport. I have never been there though as I live on the complete opposite side of Indianapolis (far NE side).

I live in a 2 bdm 2.5 bath condo that I own and am in the process of buying a new home. I will be renting it for $800 per month when and if the current offer I made goes through. Only problem is that it is 1 car garage but there is some neighborhood parking and he garage is large enough for my truck 2 bikes and a full workbench. Let me know if we might be able to work something out.

Well after 18 years across the river from Louisville my family and I relocated to Greenwood 11 months ago.

That storm in December was just what I needed to convince the boss to get a new Tacoma after selling my 05 a couple years ago. I am hoping to get in on a run out to Redbird or Badlands sometime soon.

I'm in on the Badlands trip, not sure I have the protection for Redbird but Badlands should be pretty moderate as long as we stay in the dunes. I also live in Greenwood btw.

Thanks Mark. It's good to know that Redbird requires a little more than stock. I'm stock right now and will be that way for sometime.

I've been there a bunch on dirt bikes. New to wheeling were you able to get out in the woods or did you stay on the main road?

Looks like I'll be moving to the Greenwood/Franklin Township area. I found a place to rent next to St. Francis, off Stop 11 and Arlington. Hope to meet some of you locals once the weather warms up.

Yah I was able to do a lot of the trails off the main road. Got pretty tit in some spot but came out without a scratch.

Maybe we can get a meet together this spring?

Yeah! I'd like to get a couple more eyes on my truck to make sure I won't break anything with my setup the way it is, but yeah I want to get out.
