Ummmm...I'm an ex supra guy..and no...no we where not swapping in Chevy tcases.

    500hp is is nothing for a 2jz or a r154..

While autos yes help keep the boost up..it would be more fun in a manual :D

    Either way...good luck..

I want to focus on the motor/turbo set up as well as tuning. The rest of the build I'd like to go cheap and strong as possible.
    Ford 8.8 cost me $200
I'm buying a fully built Chevy tranny that can hold 650 torque for $1100

If there are better options id def be willing to switch

Well an r154 cost around 800. They are a bit hard to find but they will hold the power too..

Also..cheap and high power..never goes well..

Yeah 500hp really isn't much. This is only an initial power goal. Pretty much the power I want to be making right when the swap is complete. I will of course turn up the boost and start breaking stuff and replacing as I go.

Does anyone know how much an R154 built cost?

Yeah I been doing some reading on there.
    I love the car!!

Pretty much just don't want to sink 50k in a truck that's only worth $9,000.

Today I'm prepping the axle to be painted. Also removed my calipers to paint them as well. What color should I go with? I'm about to post a couple pics of the truck.
Also having the rotors turned today.
    Just a little tedious work.

    Ok need OPINIONS guys!!!

Ordering some cooling and fuel components this week.

I'm gonna go with a cheap radiator from summit. It's the exact same size as stock but a 3in core instead of 1in.
Also going to ditch the mechanical fan and go with dual electric fans.
Has anyone ditched the stock fan and replaced with electric? Any tips or comments?

Going with a 255 walbro inline fuel pump. I hear these are good for about 500hp, when the new motor goes in I'll also run one in the tank.
Is this safe to run a 255 fuel pump inline between my stock fuel pump and the engine?
I will also be using a Hybrid Racing fuel pressure regulator.

I went ahead and ordered the drop kit from XII Performance today. Just shipped it ground so hopefully not this weekend but next ill be installing that.

The kit says it lowers the front 1.7" inches and the back by 2". It uses
The sport springs, Qa1 struts, and 2in alum blocks.
I was told since these kits are designed with x-runner in mind that it will actually lower my truck a little more.
Does anyone have knowledge on this?

My truck is super high, and I doubt 1.7/2 will make me happy.
I'd actually like to get more of a 2.25/2.75

Your stock pump will be practically doing nothing with then inline one installed. But it should still work
