It might not be bonding to that flex seal stuff is my guess

The bedliner might not be sticking to the flex seal. Peeling is generally a sign that something went wrong during the installation meaning it didn't stick to the substrate, it was too cold, too hot, too humid, etc. I know what the flex seal stuff is and it's not a substrate that you'd typically put bedliner over. The bed liner might not be able to adhere to it. If it's still peeling, I'd take off the layer that peeled and one layer below that with either sand paper or a wire wheel and start over.

    Just more layers

    Primer/Paint/Bedliner

I'm going to do the roll on bedliner on the top of the plates for a grip surface. I'll mix in some sand with the roll on stuff to make it gritty. It should work, I did it once for a shop floor and it did alright.

Do you have an angle grinder or a corded drill? You can get wire wheel attachements for either one of those.

I saw someone who used that POR15 stuff on an off road plate bumper and it came out looking nice. Time will tell how it holds up.

I'd still prep them. Same theory applies, if the base coat didn't stick, the Line-X is going to stick to that and if the base coat peels, your Line-X is coming off with it. It's the same situation, just with a much more expensive paint (or epoxy in that case).

Thanks mike and billy, going out now to get some primer and bed liner. Going to try and clean and paint them either tonight or tomorrow, maybe get them mounted in the next couple days!

Have you seen my truck? Remember, on the last wheeling trip, I was the one who still had their mud flaps in place

Tell me more...i scrolled through your threads looking for what your are talking about. Did you ever figure out the issues with your sat antenna? Someone told me you can call siriusxm and they can "recharge" the reception or something
