Even though I've had cruise control on every vehicle I've had for the last 20 years, I still always forget I have it. Every now and then I remember and it's like "oh yeah, that's nice"

I agree and it makes for a much more relaxing drive. When you live where there are many speed traps, the constant thought about speed is very tiring. It works well for me living in a relatively flat part of the country.

I love CC. The problem is that most jerk offs cannot maintain a constant speed. There is nothing worse trying to pass someone only to have them speed up the second you get beside them. Then a mile later they've slowed back down and your attempting to pass them again. That constant yo-yo effect is beyond maddening.

Yep, pain in the ass. With my car, I would try to cruise at 75. With the truck, I set the CC for 68 or so. Usually I can sit in the slow lane and not have a problem. I guess it is beneficial driving in a state where everyone goes 80 and drives like a lunatic.

Duh! I like it because it helps the mpg's and my foot starts aching after 50 miles or so without it.

I posted earlier in this thread and said that I loved it and used it all the time. I since have stopped using it as often as I use to, hardly ever, lately and have also noticed my MPG dropped .5 to .75 MPG.

Background: I drive 80 miles round trip every day, M-F, to work and 75 or so of that is freeway. I use to set my cruise at 65, in a 60, and use the cruise stick to make minor adjustments to my speed as I came into traffic etc.

Over time I fell out of the habit and notice I tend to go 68-70 regularly and also tend to over accelerate which leads to more braking or speed adjustments.

I track every single fuel up with Fuelly and have never missed one in 1.5 years.

I haven't read through the thread at all, so I'm sure I could answer this question if I wanted...

But how could anybody HATE cruise control? It's useful any time you want to maintain speed on the interstate, and if you don't like it you don't HAVE to use it. Seems like a silly thing to hate.

    Loud as hell URD exhaust!
Ive had cruise control on my last 3 Tacos but have only used it maybe 4-5 times total. Its nice to have, just not for me. I would rather have Icon UCAs or Remote Reservoir rear shocks as a stock option.

I use it almost all the time. I have a heavy a foot without it. Mine holds speed great on the hills around here even in 6th. Mine never downshifts, great thing about a manual. The one in my old Corolla worked just as well it was also a manual. I haven't owned a car since 1986 without one. The one in my '75 ElCamino was the worst by far, it was the old style that set by engine vacuum. That one varied by 10 mph on each side of where it was set.

Mine almost never downshifts on auto unless it absolutely has to, as I would with manual as well. I hate auto transmissions normally, but this one is pretty good... the manuals in the second gen taco's are absolute crap... only reason I didn't get one :/

Cruise control in general I like, on my truck though I hate it. Going up hill it speeds up/downshifts and going down hill it slows down. Really annoying. I wish I would have bought a manual transmission sometimes.
