    Is the rev limit at 5500? I thought it was at 5600. Regardless, isn't max power under 4K?

    F1 engines 17,000 RPM or greater piston speed 40 meters per second at TDC. Bore size twice the stroke. Huge HP but not much good in a truck.

    Hell my 99 Type-R Intergra had a 9100RPM redline. Power didn't even begin to kick in till 4300RPMS..

    Might be 40mps mid-stroke.

    So about 7680ft/min, or about 87mph?

    And I've been near engines spinning 30k... ducted fan RC airplane engines.
    20% nitromethane, 20% castor oil, 60% methanol.
    about a half a cubic inch spinning 30,000 and pushing a 10 pound airplane straight up.

    LOL!!
    Nope! IIRC, the fastest pistons speeds in an engine (discounting dragsters), is the Honda S2000, a BMW, and the 7.0 in the Corvette.

    Im guessing those are achieving around 2350 ft/min piston speeds.....guessing they are about 12 mm strokes. :eek:

    The car only weighs 3385 lbs. Even stock, it's very easy to lose the backend especially on a cool morning/evening where the tires are still cold. With nearly 700 hp and 3x the stock torque, I'd say scary is a good way to call it!

    yeah. Those things scream! When I was a kid, I remember trying to blow up a friends RX7. Cant remember the red line on it, but it reved pretty dam high! Then again......you dont really have to worry about piston speeds in a rotary.
